Do new eBay cases get withheld in PayPal?
 

Case now opens automatically if buyer asks question asking where item is after expected date

One account did and another didn't have money withheld by PayPal? Which is it meant to be?

When a case is opened is should automatically hold funds in PP.

System changed about six weeks ago.

Will be both ways now

I stand corrected. Useful to know. Any idea what determines which way they decide to go on each case?

Ah, yes I was aware of that little gem by EB.

I had meant do you know what criteria it is that they decide to hold or not hold money in PP.

By the sounds of it OP sometimes has money held when a case is open, but not all the time. In my experience whenever a case has been opened PP hold the correlating funds.

yes, the money gets held in paypal. Even if the buyer is making 'an enquiry' via contact page and it starts a case.
