Automated listings re-listing under a 7 day ban?

Hi All,

My first contact on this site was a few weeks ago when Paypal put a limit on my 7 year account. That got lifted after 3-weeks but within 24 hours Ebay started their own investigation, which after a few days also got lifted.

My problem is now that soon after this a new 7-day listing restriction was put on my account as Ebay said they wanted to make sure everything is ok ( I have a sneaking suspicion that they have kept it alive just long enough for me to pay my ebay fees). Although I can't physically list anything new on there I found out this morning that my first batch of automated listings re-listed:eek:

I'm in two minds whether or not to call them and ask about it but hesitant for fear they say I am flouting their rules?

My account isn't a stealth one and I think it may be doomed anyway as it is linked to an account I set up a year ago in a non-stealth fashion which got shut down a couple of months ago as I let the "closed case without seller resoloution" get to 0.31%.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you are currently under a 7 day selling restriction, you will not be able to list anything even if you try. Wait the seven days and then relist.

Even when your account is restored, it is still "at risk", as is your Paypal. Get to work making back up accounts so that if / when your main account gets hit again, it does not cause any major disruption to your business.

All the best. :)

That's the strange thing, when I logged in this morning I had 7 listings end overnight and all 7 re-listed as they were originally set up to automatically re-list continuously whether they sell or not.

when I then tried list something new I got the error message.

I've read that if Ebay find out about a glitch in there system like this they blame the user :confused: not their system.

Whilst I don't really want to rock the boat at the minute I don't want to risk the wrath of their insane logic.

I personally would end all listings and sell nothing until the restriction is lifted.

Thanks for the advice Ebayorbust, I decided to cancel the automation rule on all live listings after phoning Ebay customer service, speaking to the Philippines based support team, telling them my problem only for them to put me on hold for 20 minutes and come back to tell me the exact same thing I told them 20 minutes ago:doh:

Not sure about anyone else's experience with phoning customer support but I am normally on average around 25 attempts before getting connected to the Dublin based support team (who are normally very helpful) and if I can't speak to those guys I normally don't bother, just hang up the phone as soon as I hear the Philippines accent:yar:

I would not call up eB - they could outright suspend you. Let the bank go...let the account cool off. Make new accounts - use those. Slowly build this old account into good favour - takes time, dont rush it.
