PP cancelling Direct Debits

Recieved this from PP a week after verifying bank account with 4 digit code. Anyone had similar recently ?

Dear *************,

We attempted to cancel our Direct Debit Instruction (DDI) from your bank account ending in ****.

The transaction was declined during our processing.

Therefore, to protect your account, access your online banking and cancel the DDI yourself. You can also call or visit your bank to do so manually.

We look forward to continuing to offer you the number one way to send and receive money online.

Yes, I've had this before.

Did you per chance remove the bank after you verified the account?

Just got this email today for one of my accounts I recently verified a few days ago with the 4 digit code. Asking me to resubmit DD mandate in the "To Do" list.

Halifax by any chance?

GreenBean 05-22-2013 12:39 AM

Darn cuss word again.

If it is Halifax, that bank has given me the most issues with paypal since Easter.

Not impressed.

Stranger !!!! :yar:.

Thing is I have muddled around with bank accounts a little on two accounts.

Might have to let this stay a while.

Decisions, decisions.

What I don't get is why would p/p want to cancel a DD mandate?
Don't make any sense really.
I have several Halifax accounts and never had anything like this.
Very strange behaviour from p/p

Started late March.

Always had Halifax as an OK bank.

Changed those thoughts of late.

YET and get this. I've Halifax accounts in different parts of the UK. Not all of them have given trouble.

I always had a suspicion that things would eventually change at Halifax once their new owners started to integrate their own systems. We all know what that means for the future if they do.

Agreed.

Thought it in order to mention the variations amongst their branches.

:spy:

Yes indeed. The variation would make perfect sense if it is being rolled out gradually.

We wait with baited breath.
