Selling limits info

Hey all

Basically on one stealth account ebay sent a letter with code and gave me 100 item or £3500 limit.

But on another they only give me 25 or £750 limit no letter, only option i got on it is to change it to a business account.

So why is this happening?

danshan 05-22-2013 06:12 PM

Luck of the draw, thats the way it goes

GreenBean 05-22-2013 06:14 PM

each account gets treated differently.

As danshan said, luck of the draw.

Okay so the £750 will go up automaticaly?

Lex Luthor 05-23-2013 01:19 AM

No, they usually do not increase the limit automatically from £750. You will be required to call them and provide them with some information before they decide to increase it. This will usually increase to 100 or 250 if you really push them.

Tip: Tell them that you are selling low value items to so that you can increase the number in your selling allowance. Selling allowance normally takes priority with the number of items rather than the value of items sold. Sometimes, you can exceed the value of your allowance by 10 fold but you can never exceed the number of items.

Tried to increase limit on an account but instead of the letter being sent out with code it now asks me to add bank account to my PayPal....is this new

GreenBean 05-23-2013 08:31 PM

@gdsco

Not really.

Used be that ebay co uk wanted a fully verified paypal attached to ebay account to sell.

Lots were trying to workaround this. Was some success.

Now they are ask outright to have everything there before considering increases.

Start thinking risk factors.

Thanks gb, this is the first time this has happened, I think I tried to increase to quick. I have done this on a few accounts without a problem earlier on in the month. Will need to take it slower. Thanks for info

@gdsco.

& another wee tip....

Try to avoid having a paypal account that you can not use to withdraw funds.

Been a lot of changes with the internal banking systems in the UK recently. Known & favoured banks have failed a couple of times.

Operate with that in mind you need that bank account to be working for withdrawals.

(I am wearing a tin hat today ;))

Just wondering, how long have you been selling on the one you received a letter for? And how old is it?
Greenbean, they usually do increase automatically from 25 to 100 dont they? After a few months?

Hawwy 05-24-2013 11:51 AM

It was a fresh account before even making the first sale
