Which uk internet provider is good for stealth account
 

HI All,

I am with virgin media , my ip address is dynamic, but I'm unable to change my ip address
Im using the NETGEAR VMDG280 router.

what should i do?


I'm also thinking about changing my ISP , which ISP is good for UK ?

if you can't change it, it's not dynamic. Virgin's cable IPs are generally static.

I'm on Sky, never had a problem with them. Never had any real problems with TalkTalk either

Get a 3 dongle. IP sorted.

If you want a fixed broadband service then BT is probably the best for stealth.

and why would BT be better than any others?

Bigger range of IP.

If you have the ability to set the NETGEAR VMDG280 as a modem the problem is easily fixed, likewise if you can change the MAC address in the router.

VM don't use static IP, but they do have pretty sticky IP addressees though and the DHCP server will remember the IP attached to the routers MAC address, so you would have to turn the router off for a long time to get a new IP address.

If you can set your router modem as modem only, then follow http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ip-addr...super-hub.html and you will be able to change IP addresses every few minutes, as well as being able to log onto the same account from the same IP address if you want to but keeping track of the MAC addresses.

If you cannot set it as a modem, then see if you have the ability to change the router's MAC address when accessing the modem, again if you can then you can change the IP address easily.

There is also a few other ways that you can change the MAC address and generate an new IP address, such as cloning the router and then changing the MAC address in that.

Failing all those methods though getting a new modem from VM (the super hub ideally), or getting a new ISP would enable you to change IP address.

i have dynamic ip but the chance of recieving same ip address again is high,there is a small range of ip on my broadband.i notice every time i restart modem ip changes but most digits same just last 3 digits vary

im running 5 accounts thanks to stealth guide i purchased and the excellent support from members of this forum.

is it a good idea to have 2 dongles from seperate mobile providers to get more varied ip address.
