Buyer buys low cost items and then claims money bak

strange scenario

buyers buying numerous low cost items at different times and then claims non delivery knowing no tracking is used

can anything be done ?

Hawwy 05-30-2013 05:15 PM

Hate when they do that

slim jim 05-30-2013 05:21 PM

Yes, you can use tracking which will avoid problems like these. Ebay is not a place to sell and not provide tracking no matter how cheap the item is

MM78 05-30-2013 06:25 PM

If your selling an item where you can't add tracking and still make a profit..you need to sell something else.

Something smells.

Buyer or competitor? How many times has this happened?

Check them out in depth.

You should be using tracking no matter how cheap.

For example if your item is so small you can ship in a mailing envelope, simply raise shipping by $1 and it will cover the cost of paying for everything with tracking through usps.

This world is sick now days and people just arent human anymore. Everything from trying to scam out a seller for a couple dollars to world wars.

have to disagree with with a lot of views regarding tracking etc.

i send 99% of my stuff untracked within the UK and worldwide...and over 99% of it arrives safe and sound

i do understand that certain categories(phones, i pads, electronics, computer games etc etc) attract the scammers and tracking/recorded should be used, but for most sellers it's just a false economy

self insure via your p&p price to a small degree is a much more sensible option

block the user that have done it and keep an eye out for very low feedbackers doing it - that may weed out a competitor..

as for just general non received, depends on your percentage of loss 1% ok but over 10% no, you need tracking or at least make sure you claim compensation from carrier..

I think the ease and relative inexpense of tracked postage within the US is often considered to be normal across the world. This is not the case unfortunately.

It's an expensive option here in the UK. In a competitive market such as eBay it can make a huge difference to possible profits.

Good fortune and luck must have stumbled on you quite by chance.

Dont jinx yourself there.

That's a rather high % for successful delivery.

Avoid this by implementing shipping and tracking costs - yes sales will be lower but hey, that's the breaks to avoid getting screwed. It's sad but these buyers do exist - they look for loopholes and take the seller for the $.
