Mc091 suspension ... Is it dead

Come home to this dreaded email ... Can it be saved do you think

We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended for breach of our False or Missing Contact Information policy. It has recently come to our attention that some of the contact information on your account is incorrect. We'll review your account for reinstatement if you follow the instructions further down in this email.

***About eBay's False or Missing Contact Information policy***

The name, telephone number, email address and physical address you register with eBay must be correct at all times so that eBay and your buyers and sellers can get in touch with you. You may not register a fax machine, modem or disconnected number instead of your actual contact telephone number.

For more information about this policy please copy this link into a new browser window:

False or missing contact information

During your suspension you are prohibited from using eBay in any way, including registering new accounts. Doing so may result in your permanent suspension. We have ended any open listings.

Please be advised that this suspension does not relieve you of your obligation to pay any fees that you may owe to eBay.

Here's what you can do now:

Please send us all of the following information and we'll review your account:

1) Proof of name and address
2) Confirmation of your up-to-date contact details

Please send us copies of BOTH of the following(please send statement/utility bill that has been issued within the past 3 months:

- government-issued photo identification (passport or driver's licence)
- evidence of address (bank statement

Can be saved with the documentation I am fairly sure ...I am more worried about how they sniffed you out with false or missing contact information...any ideas?

lfld77 06-07-2013 01:50 PM

No , account is in my birds mates name and address so all legit on electroll roll etc .. Only thing not real is the phone number it's a bogus one that I thought was forwarded to my mobile but rings dead ...

oompaloompa 06-07-2013 02:05 PM

yes but they are wanting ALL the info now, so depends if you can provide it.

did a buyer try and call you and report or do you think ebay/paypal tried to call you for a reason? that would explain it...

in the past they asked for a new number and lightly blocked the acc until provided, but seems they are getting heavier.

lfld77 06-07-2013 02:08 PM

As I say I have total access to the persons house/details/mail etc
I had the letter sent there to raise limits
It says no longer a register user next to my ebay id now , when I sign in it says account blocked
I'm thinking its a bit severe that's all

rsot 06-07-2013 02:29 PM

Oompa is right - if a buyer pulled your info and tried to contact you but dead number, he/she could notify eB

If you have that dreaded RED writing there, you might try to appeal.

Think outside the box when you deal with this

Been ages since ebay co uk had that against suspended users.

Not nice to see.

If that happened, then why did the seller not get notified.

Should have set off alarm bells then.

Did a buyer try contacting u by email?? I'd think if a buyer tried to call and no response would of emailed u first before calling ebay , don't u think?? I would think something else tripped this up

Ebayorbust 06-08-2013 02:08 AM

The account had an inactive phone number attached to it. Fairly severe action by ebay nonetheless.

tbf, I've heard of buyers who have been self-righteous when a phone number did not work & gone running to ebay. Created doom for the seller.

Seller has not been clear about that - notification might be in his inbox and not checked.

eB is getting more and more severe with the accounts with bad info - part of the process these days. Always advised to have a working number.

Right move but still if a buyer tries to call - or e-mail - and if the info is wrong and reported to eB, you can still be trouble
