Default eBay Automatic Payment Method

My account was limited due to the £1900 limit, I have provided Paypal the documents and my account has been restored, but I get this message on my eBay Seller Dashboard,

Quote:
Your cheque payment for £xx.xx was unsuccessful (PayPal account closed) and your payment method has been removed. Please make a payment now to avoid late fees. Warning: Multiple PayPal account rejections may result in account suspension.
Also this is the email I received from eBay,

Quote:
We are writing to alert you that your balance is not paid, because PayPal declined eBay's attempt to deduct your payment from your PayPal account.

According to the decline information from PayPal, this particular merchant agreement (your authorisation for paying your eBay seller fees using PayPal) is no longer valid. Your PayPal information has been removed as automatic payment method on eBay.
What should I do?

I know I can pay via my credit card but why am I receiving this error? It used to be fine?

You cannot pay via your real plastic credit card, you would need to pay via VCC. If the account was put on hold, then payments would not be able to go out. It would seem that that was when EB tried to take the fees. Relink the account and all should be solved now that the PP is restored. Just a case of bad timing.

Never use your real credit or debit card, only vcc or prepaid card.

Once outstanding fees are paid you can relink p/p as an auto payment method although this option should be use with caution as you have already experienced the negative side of paying e/b fees with p/p.

Best to always use a vcc or prepaid card.

Yes it's likely that ebay attempted to take payment when your paypal account was limited. As your paypal account is fine now, add the paypal account as the automatic payment method.
