Ebay drives me mad
 

I sent out 5 items to a guy (who had ordered 8 ). human error on my part.

He messaged me and I told him I would send another 3 items out.

Just to clarify the total bill incl postage was £11.45 for 8 items.

I posted the other 3 out only to find eBay had given him a refund.
so the chap now has my 8 items and my money WTF!

I was very annoyed that eBay didn't even ask him to return the items to me.
Now he says he has used 2 of them and now I am at a loss.

Prob still have to pay ebay fees.

If he will not, just have to write it off as a loss. These things happen. At least it was for a small amount.

This is puzzling - he didnt open a claim? Was your account suspended? Did he do a chargeback? Lot of open questions - granted a small amount but still...weird

he opened a case with eBay
my account was not suspended
he didn't do a charge back eBay refunded him

The refund shouldn't automatically have happened. It would only happen if you agreed it or you failed to respond to the case in 7 days. If something different happened, contact ebay about it.

Did you respond to the case?

What is the time frame of this disaster?

Apart from posting here, and posting out the 3 items that got missed, what else did you do?

maybe the time frame ran out as I was busy doing other stuff

nest time someone does an ebay case I will refund and never send anything out
keep it simple

Lesson learned

I hear you - sometimes tough to predict - add the buyer to your blocked list and screen your auctions

And pay attention to disputes
