UK dongle in Europe? Can I use one?
 

Hi.

Is there a UK dongle I can take to Europe (France) and use there?

Here in UK, I am using a pay as you go tmobile dongle and it works well.

When I go to France with my laptop will it work? If not, any UK dongles that will?

Yes it will work, but you may have to pay tethering charges, depending on which plan you are on

Your best of talking to T-Mobile to find out what extra charges you may occur.

3G dongles arn't really expensive so why don't you buy one when you get to France on one of their mobile networks. It will come with a data allownce just like the UK

Consider a vodafone prepaid for France.

Am going again this week so if I have time I will see.

I am going to go for the 3G option as opposed to Vodafone as I used 3G here before and am used to it and also Vodafone charges are high and you don't get a lot of allowance(also used them here also).

In UK, I use T-Mobile prepaid dongle coz after you use your allowance, it still lets you use broadband for surfing - so ok for eb and pp use for me.
So for paying for 1 months data, I get 3 months on T-Mobile here - bargain for me.

Doing the ground work before the journey is a good business practice.

Now I might go order pizza.

Thanks for information. My work have moved us to the Netherlands so I am there a few times a month now, not France.

In Netherlands, tmobile stopped doing pre paid dongles. I went in the shop to ask and that is what they said.

So for now, I use Vodafone and its really expensive but works.
Over the months when I am there, I will ask about to see if there is anything cheaper and more suitable for my needs.
