eBay Selling Limits

I set up an eBay account around last november in stelath details and apart from some browsing on it i've never bought or sold on there

I set up a paypal account a few weeks ago and fully verified it and have now linked it to my eBay account

When i'm on my eBay account i can't see any selling limits anywhere like on my other account which is set up with real details

Will the selling limits appear when i first list an item or do i have to change my account to a selling account somewhere in eBay?

Thanks

On the left panel where it says Summary, click on ALL Selling section within the Sell section. It will be displayed here. Another way of finding it is if you highlight the dropdown under My Ebay. Scroll down to Selling.

When you list your first item in eBay your account becomes a seller account

It does not always shows the initial limits, but they will be there and if you try to list more than your limits allow, eBay will tell you.

The initial limits are generally 10 for eBays without verified PayPals, which can then increase to 25-50 once a verified PP has been added.

To increase them further, simply sell to the max each month and they will naturally increase

You will only see limits after your first COMPLETE sale of an item OP - try it out. Best of luck

Thanks guys appreciate your help

Incorrect.

It's after you complete your first listing. As James as said, they dont always immediately appear.

Item does not need to sell (as you are implying).

Not accurate.

COMPLETE does not determine if limits show

So once I list an item I will see my selling limits?

Also are my limits likely to be 10 or 25 items a month as my paypal is verified and linked to my eBay account?

Hmm if you are right then I apologize. I always see limits after my first sale was completed (average 3-7 day sales) so was under that impression.

Perhaps it was only because it did not immediately appear as you have stated.

Most new accounts get a 10 limit initially - sometimes you can be lucky and get higher limits but 10 is the norm these days.

Gracious of you.

Impressions often mean wrong advice.

For any UK accounts I have made in the past weeks, I am getting the higher limits. The verified paypal appears to bring the good luck.

That is IF a code gets sent to an address.

Not getting a code sent for my accounts.

Others are reporting no codes being sent out either.

Dratted ebay

I do hope they don't start it again any time soon. Really used to be a massive pain.

Getting a code posted to you is pretty rare these days.

GreenBean 09-04-2013 06:16 PM

@James

Amen to that.

Let's not jinx us.

You are asked to log into Paypal. So long as you have a bank attached to paypal they will increase your limit to 25 / £750. This process is not new.

Does this happen in the US as well? I just created a stealth account, and just clicked on the request higher limits just to see what page it will send me to. There were 2 options. The one on top was something about verified. Don't remember clearly. It just asks you to verify your personal information. Clicked on it to proceed, and it took me to the next page where it asks me to confirm my stealth information. Obviously, it is not the correct information. What will happen if I click on the next page?

Also, will all this lead me to get 25 sales per month because I have a bank account confirmed and everything? Thanks.

It looks like its become a common thing in the UK if you create a new account and want to increase your limit you can ask for a code to be posted out to your address

GreenBean 09-08-2013 08:50 AM

@agent-x

Has to do with how the account is created.

Mine are not getting such a request.

Others are in the same position as I am.

We are not getting codes sent out.
