How do you change MAC address on a SKY router?

As stated above, im having trouble changing my MAC address on my sky router, ive had a look on here and online but cant find anything related to sky routers? any help is appreciated

Have you tried unplugging the router, leaving it for 1 minute and plugging it in again?

This method worked for me when changing IP addresses when I used to be with Sky, although that was 15 months ago.

Post your model number, that might help to answer your question.

Sky broadband is your ISP; so you won't see many topics on Sky specifically, but on the router itself. I read up on Sky just now and noticed they do offer dynamic IPs via dhcp, so you should be able to get new IP after reset or MAC address change (unless you have a sticky IP)

As Artann mentions, you need to supply your specific router to see if its possible to modify MAC address through the web interface.

This router seems to be a modem/router combo, so you may not have any luck spoofing. In addition, I have not heard this particular brand, so it must be proprietary. Request a bridged modem from your ISP.

the router is a sagemcom, looks like a mini sky HD box, so every time i reset the router etc that should be ok then to do stealth as long as its a new ip address? I thought i had to change my MAC ? it is dynamic tho

If you have wireless setup then you have to change the mac address of that wireless router and then restart your sky box in order to get a new ip.
if the connection is direct connection, cord goes directly into your computer out of the sky box then you will have to change the mac of your computer and then restart the skybox in order to get a new ip.

when i log on to my sky router i can see all my details etc in the maintenance tab ie ip address, MAC address etc but im not sure how to change the MAC? I want to make sure i do it right :-/

Do you have the ability to change the last digit of the MAC address? If it ends in 08, change to 09. That is all that is needed. Hit apply/save and you should then reboot modem/router.

After 30 seconds, power up both and go to ipburger.com to see if the IP has changed.

Powering down the modem and waiting a minute or so tends to be a good physical move to get the new IP as long as provider is dynamic - covers for all modems

This is all you need. Just need a new public IP

Stealth was written a few years ago, forum fills keeps it up to date.

No need to change MAC address is powering off and powering up changes your IP

Make sure you track your IP always.
