Savings Accounts

Do these work for attaching an account to PayPal?

It has a unique sort code and account number that is completely different to my main account.

Thanks in advance, GG.

Re: Savings Accounts

Has disadvantages.

Direct Debit mandate may not always work.

Basic account is preferable.

Re: Savings Accounts

Thanks GB!

& I presume it's okay for the bank account to be in my name and address on a stealth account? They just know the account numbers?

Is that correct?

GreenBean 09-20-2013 05:03 AM

Re: Savings Accounts

Bank account is always made with your real ID.

You then use the 'numbers' to attach the bank account to paypal.

I know you mentioned you are using Natwest. That is an ideal bank.

However if you ever branch out, keep in mind to always avoid Lloyds.

Thanks again GB ! :thumb:

Okay, first stealth account has an added Halifax bank to it now, all seems fine.

Is it normal to be feeling so stressed about all this :s

I do have a Natwest account but it's linked to my main account, but I have an old staff account also with them that isn't used, so I can use that for the next one (when I've calmed my nerves!)

After that, I'm not sure, I'll wait until next year and apply for a basic account somewhere.

I'll not use Lloyds then, good tip, thank you.!

Re: Savings Accounts

Meant to add, purchased 2 small 99p items on the account, got 1 feedback and messaged asking for them to be sent to my daughter at 'xxx' address.

Is this right?

I know you have said you need access to the address, but I've no idea how I can do that.

Looking into PO Box for the long term solution, but still not sure how I'd input that into eB, I'll keep researching the forums for now.

I'll wait 30-40 days and then list an old uni textbook.

.!

Yes, it is.

This is like being kicked in the teeth, breaking up with that guy.

This is smack me in the mouth I hurt stress.

But, the saving grace is you are among others who wear the same t-shirt.

When you change the mind set, when you realise you can beat ebay/paypal, this stress goes.

The chase starts to beat ebay & its evil twin, paypal.

That is the best.

Yes, you're right GB ! :thumb:

I'm lucky that I at least have my main account, even if it's only 75% functioning, but I'm grateful in a way and it's given me the motivation to get this sorted before it all went wrong, like so many others'.

I'm sure my confidence will grow. :)

Re: Savings Accounts

@Geegee keep track of what account you use for each PP - dont risk a possible reuse of a bank account

Re: Savings Accounts

Excellent point rsot!

I've got the IP checker up and running, but I need a file for all account info, I'll do that today! :)

Not wise for such a little item.
Some sellers might refuse to do that. Some will be concerned about seller's protection.

Later, reappraise listing an old text book too.

Sorry

Look into mail boxes and mail forwarding services.

They will look like normal street addresses so you will have better results.

Re: Savings Accounts

Is that a no for a book?

How do I get my feedback up, and get the item?

Not sure how to do it the best way possible?

Sorry for all the Q's

Re: Savings Accounts

No harm in asking questions if you need clarification.

If you don't have access to the address that the account is registered to, then you cannot get your item unless you pick it up in person.

Geegee83 09-20-2013 06:37 AM

Re: Savings Accounts

I purchased the account on here, so it's a totally random address miles away.

Just thinking of how to get my purchase feedback up, or is that not that important?

I thought I would have to get 10-15 purchase feedback before attempting to sell, and waiting 30 days.

So for a first account I'm not sure of how I can do it a better way, apart from mail forwarding, which seems good but costs. Or is it not as expensive as I'm thinking. Approx £11 a month, plus 10p, plus forwarding postal cost.

JamesNorth101 09-20-2013 06:41 AM

Re: Savings Accounts

Getting your feedback up is a good way to start an account. Helps build trust with eBay

Around £11 a month seems accurate for mail forwarding, but cheaper is available with a search where you simply pay per item. You can also get mail boxes which are approx £8-£30 depending on the size. Again these are good, but you will need to go and collect your mail.

To stealth correctly does cost money, but you should make the initial costs back in no time when you get back to selling again.

Re: Savings Accounts

Thanks James. I've not been banned (yet), so I'm just preparing for the worse case scenario :thumb:

Forewarned is forearmed and all that.

I'll do a bit of research today then.

What would you suggest regarding my first stealth account for getting the feedback up? without a postbox solution.

GreenBean 09-20-2013 07:01 AM

Re: Savings Accounts

Still having access to the address. LOL.

This is an ebay account.

Only thing different it is in stealth mode.

real ebay accounts have address access.

Same applies for stealth ones.

Re: Savings Accounts

But how? Is the mail box the only solution?

I don't have any other address that I can access.

I've purchased a pre-made account with an existing address, can I change this without causing a red flag?

Struggling to understand how I'm going to do this for multiple accounts long term?

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

Re: Savings Accounts

You don't need to change the registered address. You add, for example, a mail forwarding address as a delivery address. Problem sorted.

Ah! I see now! Thanks Ebayorbust :) :thumb:
