US Seller with a UK Ebay Account
 

I'm really interested in purchasing a UK Ebay/Paypal account from one of the sellers on here who sells UK Ebay accounts. I'm in the US, and I've heard that a lot of Americans sell through the Ebay UK in addition to Ebay US. For any of you that have any experience with this, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could help respond to any of the below questions. I contacted the person that sells the accounts, but he said that he was not familiar with the process, and that I might have luck asking on the forum.

Is it possible to purchase an account setup in the UK and use it in the US?
And if so, is having an IP in the US something that causes an account to get closed?

And also, can I add a US bank to the paypal account?
And, does the UK Ebay/Paypal require TAX ID's after a certain threshold like the US currently does?

1. It is not that easy - you do need UK IP or risk immediate limitation.

2. Yes - unless you can prove otherwise....you do need that UK IP

3. Getting tough to operate with US bank outside the US...UK bank is the default and most acceptable method.

4. Threshold seems much lower - 1900 quid.

@CFisher, understand the USA platform WELL before you expand on all platforms - it is possible to do well on it

depends, but on balance usa is easier acc to run in general, and particularly if usa users...

Yes it is most important. Makes ebay/paypal suspicious. Flags the account which is never wise.

Not at the moment. Yesterday when I tried there was no way to enter a USA account.
Been getting worse for weeks.

paypal uk has £1900 anti-money laundering limit. This is not tax per se. It is required to supply ID to lift these limits. Other option is to sell under £1650 per calendar year...

Reconsider this is my advice if stealth is new to you.

Concentrate on USA. You should be able to manage better there.

You will need to have a UK IP - You can use a VPS or dial up (although this is very slow)

Learn how to operate a domestic account before expending to accounts overseas.

Sadly, with the 1650 limit per year, it just seems like more hassle than it's worth.
