Default selling limit increase needed currently 5360 items/£36,100.00 a month

Hi guys,

I need to get my limits increased on my non-stealth account. I would like to explain my situation first so you can see how it affects my listing capabilities.

As per my title i have 5360 items/£36100.00 - so not bad limits but he items i sell are between £7.99 - £14.99 and each listing has 4 variations. I usually sell around 70 items a day - on average around £700 in sales daily.

At the start of the month I list around 900 - 950 items ( remember there are 4 variations ) In order to list this many items I have to set all different items and variations to quantity of 1.

The pain of doing this is that every time i make a sale I then have to go into the listing and replenish the stock back to 1. It isn't the greatest of situations but it's the only way I can get as many different products out there as possible. The more products out there the more sales i get.

Now as I get to halfway through the month I then start having to removing some listings otherwise I can't replenish the stock levels back to 1 when i make a sale because it says i have maxed out my sales limits.

So I go from 950 listings, to 900 listings, to 850 listings down to 625 as we speak on the 26th of November.

Your November selling activity

You have sold
1827/£18,007.69

You have listed (active)
1922/ £18,080.09

You can list
1611/£12.22

So as soon as December 1st comes round ile start the process again and re-add the items taken off.

I read alot on here that you can get an increase naturally so long as your maxing out every month. The problem is I cant max out and sell 5360 items/£36,100.00 a month.

Am i missing something here do they take into account what i still have active at the end of the month or when they say maxed out they mean you have nothing active and you can't list anything.

I don't want to phone for an increase as I dont want them snooping etc but i'd love to increase. I'm not that bothered about having to replenish stock as sales come in etc it's more about being able to list 1000 products all month rather than at the start and then have to remove 400 halfway through the month.

Has anyone had my type of limits and whats the next increase likely to be ? Based on the above what are my options in getting an increase without ringing in?

Thanks

The Mav

Awesome sales Mav so I wouldn't complain since many are stuck and have to deal with limits of 100/£3500! If I'm right however most accounts nowadays dont often go beyond 35k a month unless your a super brand.

The obvious answer is of course stealth to spread your sales and safeguard you business. Let me ask you. What would you do if all of a sudden rather than ebay increase your limits, ebay restricted your limits or placed an indefinite selling restriction to the category you list in or even suspend your entire account!?

For this reason and to bypass limits, you should be looking at creating more stealth accounts! Spread your sales and not put anything in one basket.

Yes your right not to call, this could only lead to more problems and no limit increases, apart from stealth you have no choice but sell to the max and hope limits increase soon.

Why dont you just half the variations? That way you can increase the qualities a bit more and save you some time editing the listing all the time someone buys one of your products, the rest can be spread over some stealth accounts.

@themav

Is this a stealth account? and to get to the selling limit you have got to have eBay/paypal ever asked you to send in any ID or out?

Would love to help you with your question but I'm quite new myself, if you could answer mine it would be very helpful thanks.

@ Mastermind thanks for your insight exactly what i needed. You are right I need to stealth rather than waiting for the inevitable. I'm running that ebay account aswell as having a full time job so i guess trying to breed some stealth accounts will take some good organisation on my part as my life is already 100 miles an hour. Not complaining honest! ive been a member of this site for over 6 months now and visit daily but never put it into action. I had to get myself on the electoral roll and moved into another property ready to open new bank accounts so there isnt anything stopping me now!

@Dazzler yes its a legit account but I have never sent ID in to my knowledge - ive had the account 1 year.

Would it be too much hassle removing the variations and asking the buyer to add a note to PayPal with the variation they want? If it's a simple colour variation and you have plenty of stock..

I list with a lot of variations, but my account is unlimited, on stealth accounts it's a pain and I totally get what your problem is.

Only issue with that is chasing people that don't tell you want variation they want.

I'd go with more stealth accounts and just sit tight for now.

@ Geegee83 - this isn't a stealth account so dont know if that affects your advice

The variations are for colour and product model. I think there would be too many that forget to tell me and when they get the default colour as clearly listed it would still cause issues.

I think the stealth account route is my only option but they are needed anyway as we all know on here ...

I'd be interested to know your steps to getting unlimited

I am a fan of if it's not broken, don't fix it - if you can't sell to the max, might as well play around with your business model rather than risk a call-in...

You have Sold over £18.000 in 1 month. If I was you I would employ people to run your business for you and retire to a warm country!!!!!

I would not call adjusting your listing a pain I would call it a pleasure.

If you open up a live chat and just ask for a selling increase thay will give you one without a doubt . Thay will ask a few questions like how long for dispatch , have you got a supplier and have you got the items in person . If you haven't just say yes . And thay will check your account and you should have a limit increase in about 20 mins max
