Strange Paypal Happenings.....
 

So I sent a payment to somebody using my paypal this was for £900 yesterday.

That person has now confirmed they recieved that money and they have it in their bank account.

I go to my bank account this morning and I have an available balance showing that this money has not left my account and it is still showing in the available balance and has not left...It has not come out.

It seems strange as usually it deducts this amount from your available balance....

It looks like paypal have paid the amount and neglected to remove it...

Am I £900 better off....lol

If you have another funding source ie credit card, check that as well.

I would take it for granted that the money will be taken from you at some point.

Agreed - leave it where it is to avoid any charges if they take. See where you stand after 72 hours.

I would leave it there for a few days at least and check any other fund methods linked to PayPal. When it comes to them being out of pocket they are very fast to fix the issue.

It sounds like you have payed using the "Instant Bank Transfer" option when paying. It means that the person receiving will get the money instantly and PayPal will deduct the money from your bank account by direct debit within 2-3 business days after payment.

This. You must have a fully verified bank account with direct debits enabled and a verified backup funding source. They normally take it 72 hours later in my case.

I don't understand the backup funding thing. I've got a main paypal account, I've got my current bank account attached and and old bank account that's been closed now for about 6 years as a "backup funding" source. It's attempted to have been charged multiple times over the years, and paypal still won't let me remove it because "there's a charge pending." on it.

I had the exact same thing on an old Paypal account, except the backup funding source was a debit card that had been reported lost (so basically a dead card). It happens sometimes after you've used IBT I'm guessing.
