Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Few posts about this around. Make sure money is there to cover the eCheque and avoid NSF fees. Would recommend not repeating.
Also pay your fees in advance with a cc before fees are due |
| ebanned | 12-22-2013 12:15 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Have searched for a solution but found nothing rock solid... Should I remove the bank account from paypal, should I ring the bank and remove the direct debit or should I just let it roll... Not sure which is the best out of the three and even then none of these seem to be a promising solution :( |

Also pay your fees in advance with a cc before fees are due | I usually pay the fees in installments to keep them down at the end of the month, the money is in the bank to pay them but I dont want them linking my real name to my stealth name. Ill certainly not be repeating this mistake, it goes to show that your not even safe if the moneys in paypal to cover the fees, especially with disputes being opened like legs in a brothel! |
| ebanned | 12-22-2013 12:26 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque ok do I...
1: Let the echeque roll and hope for the best
2: Cancel the direct debit with my bank
3: Drawer out some cash so not enough money is available for the echeque
4: Ring paypal and ask them to cancel and take the funds from paypal as these are now available
5: Remove the bank account from paypal
Please help, times running out! |
| clapclap | 12-22-2013 01:26 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque I would personally let it roll and pray the account goes un-detected. If you stop the
payment in anyway I think this would raise more red flags and it would make Paypal more likely to look deeper into your account.
It is a difficult one but I hope it all works out for you |

So the money will definately go through wont it, my bank wont stop it? Ive enough in paypal to pay my fees now but im thinking about emptying it. It states that its pending until the 31st so after that I might stop trading on the account until the coast is clear, just in case they rob me of any money. |
| clapclap | 12-22-2013 01:45 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque If the funds are in your bank to take then it will go through. If you have enough funds in your PP are you able to make a one time payment?
If so this may stop the echeque.
How many days has the echeque been pending? |
| ebanned | 12-22-2013 01:47 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque The transaction started on the 20th so two days. It says its pending until the 31st. |
| ebanned | 12-22-2013 01:48 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque On my ebay it looks like the payment has gone through. |
| clapclap | 12-22-2013 01:48 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Ok so the fees on your Eb account are showing as paid? |
| ebanned | 12-22-2013 01:50 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Yes they are showing as paid, only the new fees are displayed which I think a one time payment will go towards them? |
| clapclap | 12-22-2013 01:55 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Yes so it seems the payment is on its way from the bank. If you are lucky the fees will leave your bank and nothing will be said.
I think it would be wise to empty your PP account but leave enough to cover the dispute plus your current fees.
Saying that if you have a small amount left in your PP I would leave it in there.
The problem you have is there isn't really a right or wrong way of doing things in your position its just a waiting game to see if any flags have been raised.
Just pray its a spotty new worker at PP and they cant be arsed to see what the problem is on your account lol.
GOOD LUCK |

| ebanned | 12-22-2013 01:58 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque They money hasnt left my bank yet, no sign of paypal taking anything. Does that make a difference?

Will be gutted though, this is my first stealth so will be gutted if I lose it due to something so stupid... Im just glad we learn from our mistakes!
Someone mentioned that they pay their fees every day so they never get a bill... Sounds like a good idea if you ask me! |
| clapclap | 12-22-2013 02:20 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque An echeque works much the same as a normal cheque. It takes 5-7 working days to clear.
PP works in mysterious ways it may not be a problem. |
| aniseed | 12-24-2013 04:01 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque I withdraw whenever I get about £100 in my PayPal, about once or twice a week. BUT before every withdrawal I always manually pay my ebay fees from my PayPal balance. Therefore an autopayment has never happened.
Been doing this for about 9 months on all my accounts with no problems and quick limit increases. |

I pay my fees via PP every Friday and I have never had a problem since, its always gutting but if you 'chin up' and carry on you will have a number of accounts that are doing too well then you will be on this forum moaning how to keep up lol.
Keep me posted on what happens with the echeque. |
| ebanned | 01-04-2014 06:41 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Update on Halifax and Paypal. The fees were taken out fine, no indication of my name being given to paypal. So its looking good! |
| NoneOther | 01-05-2014 06:23 AM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Your real name will show on the electronic transaction details.
It will probably only be picked up if there is a manual review of the account at some stage, so although your account may be ok at present you should still treat it as tainted. |
Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Do one time payments on eB with VCC/gift card moving forward |

Please make sure you NEVER do it again as you have been very lucky  |

| Flagpole | 05-01-2015 03:47 AM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque I thought id bump this rather than starting a new thread.
I messed up a little and had this happen to me. The account is running fine, plenty of money in the Bank account to cover fees when the echeque takes it.
Will it be ok as a one off ? |
| wired | 05-01-2015 09:52 AM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Your bank account name will be given to PP when the bank makes the transfer, you cant see this, but PP can...it will be picked up when PP do a manual merchant review. |
| Flagpole | 05-01-2015 11:04 AM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque Is this something that can happen anytime or is it a monthly thing? |
| wired | 05-01-2015 01:05 PM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque It happens to everyone at some point. |
| stealthybutnotwealthy | 12-06-2016 06:44 AM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque I've messed up and done this on one of my ebay accounts. If I pay the fees manually with credit card will it stop the echeque? (about 4 days to go) does anybody know? |
| JamesNorth101 | 12-06-2016 06:56 AM | Re: Paypal trying to take fees from bank via echeque It wont stop the check no. You have to wait for the check to fail and then make the payment via VCC
Worst case is your bank account gets removed and you have to phone PayPal to get it manually readded. |
