RBS changing to Williams and Glynns OK ?

Hi i have some accounts with RBS. In a phone chat today was told these accounts are being transferred to Williams and Glyns. Does anyone foresee any problems with this please ?

This was a marketing move by RBS.

To date, I have not heard of , or had, issues.

Not unlike a merger of banks with a name change in place.

Have they changed over your current accounts or basic ones?

They told me in the branch that my accounts, a basic and a saver, will not be changed over until some time in 2015. They said I will get letters informing me of the progress and eventually a date.

from what I have experienced with changovers (not RBS) is you get to keep the same acc number sortcode and/or the paypal withdrawals get routed to the same acc number, so you do not need to change anything on paypal. In addition sometimes you get a new acc number for the new masters system, very hand as you can make another acc with it..

I have a current and a basic account. I use the current for an active ebay paypal and not used the basic one yet.

It was only when i decided to move money that i realised the debit cards are out of date by 2 months and i couldn't use the card reader. Unlocking the card reader with an RBS op on phone i asked why didn't new debit cards arrive automatically and i was told about williams and glyns move and it may be why they didn't arrive automatically.

Thanks for this so I guess It might be prudent for me to create an account with the unused basic account I have.

Can also spread by making new accounts at other banks
