paypal limited my account

paypal want bank acc statements, supplier contact details, invoices,
delivery confirmation is this normal or have the got on to my stealth account?

NoneOther 01-02-2014 09:37 AM

Re: paypal limited my account

Requests like this from p/p are normal and happen on any type of account, real or ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

More than likely a result of a combination of what you are selling and volume.

Any recent increases in sales volume or high risk products can trigger it.

NoneOther 01-02-2014 10:41 AM

Re: paypal limited my account

Any Apple product = high risk.

You now need to prove to p/p that the items were supplied to you from legitimate source.

Be very careful with this.

This has nothing to do with p/p request for supplier info, it is purely that you are selling high risk items and in particular Apple products.

As I said before you need to be very careful with this.

Products will need to show as being supplied from an authorised Apple source.

Not going to cut it for PP - have to get creative at least. Apple is high risk...true

jesus might loose this account

Re: paypal limited my account

It is highly probable (but not definite) if not dealt with correctly.

For future reference you should always be prepared for supplying any relevant info e/b or p/p may request for any items you sell. More so for high risk items.

Selling Apple products have been the downfall of many account both real and ⊗⊗⊗⊗.

stevebills 01-02-2014 12:38 PM

Re: paypal limited my account

I also sold Epson inks and maybe send the invoices for those with supplier info ... finger crossed and legs lol

NoneOther 01-02-2014 12:47 PM

Re: paypal limited my account

They will most probably want supplier info for ALL the items you have sold, not just some.

Be aware that e/b know who all the authorised distributors and resellers are for practically every manufacturers products they deem to be high risk items.

If they don't already know it is not that difficult for them to verify.

stevebills 01-02-2014 01:02 PM

Re: paypal limited my account

I cant believe they want supplier info surely that's my Business secret
and stuff them all will move on to another stealth and eBay can forget there fees on this one if i loose my £120 sat in PayPal

NoneOther 01-02-2014 01:17 PM

Re: paypal limited my account

Supplier info is the only way they can verify that the items you are selling are genuine and that you are a legitimate business who is authorised to sell the items.

stevebills 01-02-2014 01:52 PM

Re: paypal limited my account

surely paypal should ask for the info they want before limiting my account this is immoral
and sucks big time.....

Your account is not dead yet!

If you are smart and get the docs they require right then it will survive.

There's a solution to every problem, even Apple products but you need to do your research.

Good Luck.

There's a high amount of ⊗⊗⊗⊗ Epson inks being sold on eBay, if you've been selling a lot of these then that could be the reason there asking u for info to check yours are genuine.

Apple products are high risk yeh but don't think you can get ⊗⊗⊗⊗ apple tv's so don't see why they would want to see supplier info for them as most of them being sold on eBay are used ones where people have bought from gumtree and stuff, especially the 2nd generation which can be jailbroke and i don't even think apple supply these now so would be hard for us to find a supplier.

NoneOther 01-02-2014 03:31 PM

Re: paypal limited my account

They are not just concerned about ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items being sold.

They are just as concerned as to whether you have a legal right to sell certain products too especially when you are selling/sold more than one of a certain item.

Yeh but just saying there's also a risk it could be due too one of the items having a high amount of ⊗⊗⊗⊗s, so let's not assume the requested documents is because of the apple products. It could be either,

And yes it's commen sense there not just concerned about ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items, there's Many reasons they could request docs from you,

I know a few people who sell/sold apple tv's for a few years without any problems so I'm thinking there's a possibility the Epson ink is the cause for the requested info from paypal, that's all.

NoneOther 01-02-2014 04:26 PM

Re: paypal limited my account

You may well be right.

There is a risk with any items sold and p/p won't give any clues why they have requested docs/supplier info which is why they will want docs for all items sold.

The more riskier the items the greater their interest in their source.

Giving them half the information they request only makes them more determined.

Many here will testify to that

Yeh as always all information they requested will need to be provided, but my advice to this seller if they have multiple stealth accounts is keep going with the apple tv's if there your main product you want to sell and cut out the Epson ink and see if that helps keep paypal off your back on other accounts,

Just I know a few people having problems with selling the Epson ink and i know a few people that have had lots of success with apple tv's with no problems from paypal, so don't give up and hope this helps.

Re: paypal limited my account

You ever considered that you did not buy these from a friend but from a reputable auction of bankrupt stock. I mean how hard could it be to go to your closest auction of bankrupt stock and buy a few items. The receipts tend to look crap after they have been faxed so any changes of date and product would be easy to change.

Re: paypal limited my account

Typical pattern of someone building f/b to move on to selling high risk items.

Your assumption that this may be why is more than likely correct, such buying patterns are automatically flagged.

A lesson to be learned here.
