Aliexpress charging 5% fee for sellers
 

I am having problems with sellers not accepting payment through aliexpress for large wholesale orders because of the 5% fee anyone else having this problem ?

They are all saying they can only accept payment through western union or bank transfer which has no protection at all

Really need some help please

Build a relationship with them. That 5% you save them will go both ways for you and the seller. WU and MG are fine if you have been doing business with them in the past. If it's a new seller, start with smaller orders.

I don't know why so many people make such a big deal about this. Put yourself in their position. They have a business to run too. The ones with good reputations and intelligence just want to save operational costs just like any of us here. Not every single seller on Ali is a godd*mn scammer. Ali is worth billions of dollars. They didn't get that big with all of their sellers stealing money from people.

I agree with unknown5454, but do your research first. Make sure the seller had a good reputation and start with smaller orders. Even then, never send more in a Western Union than you can afford to lose. The fact is, with Western Union, there is no recourse if the seller fails to deliver. If that happens, you are simply out the money.

Agree with unknown.

I would make a few (or a bunch) of small orders through Aliexpress at first.

Builds up credibility between you and the seller.

After around 10+ small orders and you are pretty happy with their feedback and service, you can chance a larger order with that seller. If they know you will be a regular customer, they will not risk their relationship with you for a couple or hundreds or thousands of dollars when they can make much more.

What might help is to make a small order with the larger order (Around the same day) pay for the small order on aliexpress, then pay for the larger order through the other payment methods.

This way, you can leave feedback if there is a problem.

This is how I usually shop for suppliers.

A few of my vendors on thier will take Paypal instead.

Lots of potential for problems doing this. PayPal do not like funds being sent to China for goods, even if it is a buying PP account. Tread carefully.

Are you saying that if they do not send me the items or a brick that I am not protected by Paypal?

No you would be because you would open a INAD case with PayPal. Lets just say PayPal aren't alien and know China sell loads of f@kes, therefore monies being held for review and Chinese suppliers ended up hacked off because they haven't got their money etc. It happened to me in the early days and lost a good supplier. If you have a good relationship use T/T or LC if its big enough. I wouldn't put anything through PP for goods being bought abroad. Thats me though having had the experience.
