UK everday & online saver problems

I seem to be having problems linking my everyday and online savers to my stealth paypal account, can anyone confirm if these accounts are still working.

I get the following message in my halifax online account:

Sorry, we couldn't complete your transaction. Please try later. or call us on XXXXXXXXX

The stealth account is in a different name to my paypal account, but haven't had a problem before.

Similar problems reported recently by a number of stealthers.

Please see my response on thread link below. I believe this is the same thing:

The problem is now sorted.

In case anyone else has the same problem:

I called Halifax: 08456 02 00 00

They told me that I would need to wait 24 hours after setting the accounts up (Business days only), but they managed to give me the codes.

Glad its sorted! - Also worth noting I once had to wait 3-4 working days after opening the saver for it to allow me to add it myself!

So not necessarily the case in all instances.

And to save a bit of money, use site for alternatives to these 0845 numbers

What about amount of savers that you can open in one bank?
Do you think its limited in any way?

Of course it is limited!

If you wish to dispute this, keep opening them and see what happens to you.

Do you think the cops will storm my door because I opened to many?
If I would be about hit some limit they should just not allow me to open more, not to take some consequences.

No, but the banks you try to abuse with this plan of yours will screw you up in a big way which will substantially reduce your ability to open and use bank accounts in future.

If a bank suspects that you are 'abusing' their services or that your accounts/transactions are being used in an unacceptable manner they could possible put a CIFAS marker on your accounts which would severely hinder your ability to open accounts anywhere in future and would almost certainly destroy any chances you had of gaining credit.

Opening multiple accounts at multiple banks concurrently should be treated with the utmost care.

So how do people have over 20+ accounts surely they have more than 1 or two in one bank? Correct me if I am wrong please...

Re: UK everday & online saver problems

You can have 2 or 3 accounts with each bank, you simply have to be careful opening them.

Do not go mad and open 20 accounts in a week for example. Spread it out as much as you can.

Re: UK everday & online saver problems

i did have around 10 online savers and easy savers at halifax but opened them all around 3 months apart and have successfully closed the ones i no longer use anymore.

I do like how you able to close the accounts on your online service now and do not have to go into the bank anymore

How old are you?

:FF:

In the UK, the banking system is regulated. Customers need to know what to do rather than act in a stupid manner.

Plenty of other banks that are not part of the Lloyds Group.

Lloyds bank should be avoided
