Activity: 0% Longevity: 61% | | Is my account legit or stealth
Basically when I got banned from eBay 6 months ago I made a new stealth account but i used an address from a street grew up on and lived there for 20 years, Whilst I lived at this address i never had anything to do with eBay or paypal, it was only after I moved from this street I started selling on eBay.
And the number i used for the street does not even exist and I changed some of my first name but kept last name the same, when I tried to confirm personal details to lift the £1900 limit on paypal it passed the public data check.
The account is now 6 month old with 79 positive feedback, bronze powerseller and just the other day qualified for trs,
My question is that is this classed as a stealth account? or if eBay looked at it would they be able to see I've passed the public data check on paypal and treat this account as a legit, just wondering as I know it's not recommended but I'm thinking of calling eBay up for a selling increase as I've already had one via online chat and passed the questions they asked me but now there insisting i ring them up for an increase, what questions will be asked does anyone know? Thanks

Legit or not you are still better off not ringing eBay. eBay do not see accounts as 'stealth' or 'legit'.
If you need to sell more create more stealths.

Would suggest to not push boundaries here.
You have an ebay account that is under the radar and working fine.
This is where you bite the bullet and allow the account to continue to mature.
Avoid exposure to ebay

Yeh the point I was trying to get at is that I've heard they ask you personal info like what year was your father born or what car does your parents drive & other stuff, is this true? if so on a stealth account I would fail but with this account I would know the answers,
What would the worse thing that could happen if I ring up?
And does anyone have any experience on what questions they ask?
Guys i appreciate your advice and agree with you's 100% but I'm willing to risk this account as I have many others that are similar so would appreciate any advice from anyone about ringing up.

I can understand paypal asking questions to verify you as you would have added this as security info when you opened your account
if you are able to list and sell carry on Quote:

All went well got an increase to 300-£4000 questions were all simple ones, they asked me about the 2 violations I had a while back ago which I forgot about and I just said they were personal items and I was new to ebay and didn't know I could not list them, they was fine with it and said that they can see I've not tried to relist them again and it's good that I listened to the warning I got and gave me a number to ring up in future incase I'm unsure if I can list a certain product, so good day for me cheers for advice guys I will put the questions they asked below incase anyone else was wondering.

I've called up to get selling limits increased over 40 times in the past 12 months. Twice I've been declined because I had only made 1 or 2 transactions, and only 3 occasion's have I been asked to send in invoices, and similar documents paypal get sent. I did, and 48-72 hours later my selling limits were increased.
Now you've passed the initial "review" as they call it, I'd not hesitate to call them again so long as your selling what you told them you sell when you initially spoke to them, feedback is good, no VERO violations etc. The next calls are even more robotic and scripted than than 1st.
If you've now branched out to Ugg Boots, GHD's and Beats, then I'd not be so confident calling.

So hard to know what to do in my situation given that the one time I called up for an increase it went perfectly but now I'm very paranoid about doing it again because everyone on here says not to do it.
Also the fact that it's still not confirmed whether or not ebay actually give automatic raises on business accounts any more makes it all the more tempting to call them.

Enjoy the pain of burning your fingers?
Resist the temptation to call in....I'm not up to have a thread of sadness when accounts get limited after making phone calls.
To help, I make business accounts from scratch for the UK. I enjoy higher limits. |
