Re: uk seller will not accept paypal

Paypal has to be offered on UK ebay despite what sellers claim.

Re: uk seller will not accept paypal

EB UK has to have PP as a payment option (really rather annoying tbh)

Re: uk seller will not accept paypal

The seller can refuse to sell if you don't pay how they ask.

For example if they state cash on collection for a pick up only item, insisting on paying by paypal screams scammer.

Re: uk seller will not accept paypal

nah he ain't scammer, I do not get this impression, he list alot of stuff.

they would pay ebay fees if I bid on it and they mark as paid.

what I do not get is collection only mixed with paypal offered. They refuse to clarify it too, just give some prat answer, get on my nerves.

thinkin of reporting them, had enough - what will happen to him

what are rules I get them generally but in this situation what is rule

Report them for what exactly? Just find another seller that is selling the item you want and is happy to accept paypal

missinglink 02-24-2014 02:46 PM

yeh it is rare - no way to find another.

report for sayin paypal but collect only.

offering paypal is not possible if you are not prepared to post it.

I do not understand rules

Whilst they must offer paypal as a payment method, they can put collection only.

PayPal themselves advise against accepting PayPal when an item is collected.

I would NEVER accept PayPal for an item that is to be collected. Any in any case, why would you want to pay for it with PayPal?

If you had a problem with the item, you'd have to return via a TRACKABLE method for a refund.

Think about that.

I hope you mean seller?

Buyer should not be telling anyone what to do.

WARNING EBAY LINK

Accepted payments policy

Before you toddle off and make waves, read the rules. Here's a couple of hints:

Check the category.

Check the age of the seller's account. Look at what year they started on ebay co uk.

Sometimes ebay 'lets' older accounts slide when they do rule variations.
Make sure there is nothing like this extract from the rules:
There's only one exception: Sellers who offer payment on collection may include the following statement in their listings: 'Contact me for payment methods for paying on collection.'

Regardless, be careful of drawing attention to your own account.

Good Luck

A very good point! Don't go pointing fingers at others with your stealth account, you're supposed to be drawing as little attention to yourself as possible.. A grey seller.

A seller doesn't have to accept PayPal if it is collection only and infact PP themselves recommend that you do not accept PP for a collected item.

If you're having to go collect it, why can't you spend some time inspecting the goods and make sure its all ok before handing over real cash?
