***Good news for sellers: More information coming soon to help you stay on top with the new performance standards***

24 March, 2014 | 04:10PM GMT

Hello,

We’ve heard from many of you about the need for more insight at the transaction level into how you’re doing toward eBay’s performance standards - and we listened.

We’re pleased to announce you’ll soon be able to run weekly detailed reports on your transactions to help you prepare for the new approach to seller standards on eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie coming with the August 20 seller evaluation. These reports will show which of your transactions have defects, and the specific defects associated with each transaction.

Starting the week of April 16, you’ll be able to see which transactions have:

· Returns initiated for a reason that the item was not as described

· eBay Money Back Guarantee cases opened for item not as described or item not received

· Seller-cancelled transactions, and negative or neutral feedback

Starting in late April, the detailed rating system will no longer be anonymous, and you’ll also be able to see which transactions have low detailed seller ratings for item description and dispatch time.

We’re making this change to the feedback system specifically to help you succeed with the new standards - and deliver the great service that earns you more visibility and potential sales.

Regards

The eBay Team
LOVE this - makes it easier to block those abusers !!:d

I am really looking forward to a number of changes that eBay are implementing. Big changes in August I think will really make things better for sellers (I hope at least....)

Nice movement to be more transparent but we will see how it helps us sellers.

Initially I was very sceptical of the new changes, however I think long term it will be better.

My main gripe now is managed returns. Buyers will simply choose item not as described so that they can send items back free of charge. Iv had people do this because they worry you wont accept change of mind returns.

The cost at the moment is £5.99 via collect plus. This costly return price will bankrupt sellers who send.cheap items .

When royal mail get on board it will be cheaper, although i'm confident it'll be more expensive thanca large letter or small packet price. Ebay need their cut after all.

If the DSR system is no longer anonymous then buyers may be more hesitant to leave bad feedback.

I know that since the new Etsy feedback system came in - where the buyers name can be seen - many buyers no longer leave fb at all. Especially as sellers can now respond.

I had one buyer leave the equivalent of a neutral for HER error in not reading the size of the items. I pointed this out in my response. The buyer wrote and asked me to change it but I said I wanted it to stand and she would have to live with it. I also told her she was banned from my shop.

As my old gran used to say "You make your bed and then have to lie upon it".

Ebay sellers are past masters as responses which make the buyer look bad:-

Buyer: nice but smaller than expected.

Seller: size in inches and metric clearly given on all my listings so why blame seller for your unwise purchasing error?

It wont be publicly visible, you will be able to view a report to see who and why.
