Paying Supplier with PayPal

Hi all,

I am looking to pay a supplier in China via PayPal, I will be attaching my credit card to it to make the payment.

Obviously I will need to create a new PayPal account so that it doesn't cross with ones I am selling on etc.

The amount is £3800.

1. Can anyone see any issues with this?
2. Will PayPal hold the payment?
3. Can I still chargeback should there be any issues?

Please advise

thanks

Hi,

1. Yes
2. Probably
3. Yes

That's a lot of money to send on a new Paypal account. Expect the payment to be reviewed at the very least.

When the payment is reviewed, if it was to be, the Chinese hold the goods until the payment is released don't they?

I assume getting an aged PayPal account is slightly pointless as it wouldn't have any payment history either?
Thanks

You'd need an account with a LOT of history to get that payment through without any kind of hold / review.

OK thanks. When they review it, what will they ask for, invoices etc?

If they don't like the payment does it then get sent straight back to my card or is there a lengthy process involved?

Process will be as long or as short as paypal wants....

In other words paypal will mess you around .

Not a good idea to pay via PayPal then? They do accept Alibaba but because I opened a case due to some damaged items before, they won't let me pay through Aliexpress again.... apparently 'my boss say we don't do payment this way anymore because of case before'

Lost as to other payment methods that are 'safe' for me..

Is payment via real Credit Card supplied by your bank (or a virtual CC created from your bank account) not a viable solution?
You can ask them how you could be covered in this situation.

Its via a REAL credit card...to be honest I just need to find another way to pay so that I am covered.

Keep pushing for them to take Aliexpress Escrow or whatever it is called.
