Any explanation for this?? eBay being overly generous?

Since September I've had nearly 10 ebay accounts on the go. I use 2 or 3 as my 'main' accounts (these currently have 100 items per month limit) while I slowly build the others up (stuck on 25 or 10 items per month limit).

On my main accounts I now have well over 100 feedbacks on each account with high DSRs + plus fully verified Paypals with no limits. Despite this I've never gotten my limits lifted apart form the start after confirming address.

Not long ago I logged into one of the backup accounts to list a few things to discover a message from eBay stating my limits had gone from 10 to 85, this is despite selling only 5 items since December and having just 3 feedbacks.

I listed the few items and logged in 5 days later when they'd sold to discover my limits had gone from 85 to 240.

Any idea why this is or what I could have done right?

I treated it no different from any other account...infact this would be my 'worst account', as in the one I paid least attention to. The Paypal isn't fully verified, I've never confirmed the address, I've only sold a total of 10 items.... yet my selling limits are 240/£6000. If anything it seems the key is to simply barely use your account. Surely that cannot be correct? Why would a ebay seller who sells on average 2 items a month get such a boost? Any ideas?

Pure luck. Nothing more to it than that.

These things happen. Treat the account well as they are decent limits

Yes, very random and nothing more. I've had accounts go from 25 -> before I have even sold an item with 0 feedback. This happened on more than one account as well.

Take it as a big plus.

Dont rock the boat and go on to selling more.

An eB seller who sells only 2 items per month would be looked at as a novice and eB might encourage him/her more to sell....one approach
