Chaning Return Address to Different Town/Name
 

I've used the search function on the forum but can't seem to find anything clear cut on what i think is a pretty basic question, perhaps i'm searching wrong.

After buying a stealth Ebay account/PP a few days ago i am currently in the process of building up some browsing history.

Here's my question. The address on the stealth account is Shropshire, i am based in Lancashire and would like returns to be sent to my business partners address (Lancs) as he has no historical or current ebay links.

Can I just change the return information to my partners name/address? Or should i use my partners address but with the name my stealth account came with?.....and if i do that, what if we miss a parcel and have to go pick it up from the depot? My business partners ID (as they ask for it there before giving you the parcel) obviously won't match the name on the parcel.

Really confused about this.

I'm also confused in regards to the buying aspect. I wanted to buy some cheap items on the account to get my feedback off zero, but then i realised my stuff will get sent to someone i've never met in shropshire and then i'll get busted....also, should i even buy anything at all? is that bad? As i just read that PP can see your name linked to your bank only if you buy.

I have read about PO boxes but the same confusion/questions i have written above come up with that option too.

I am a noob but i've covered all other fundamental angles involved i.e. dongle, new user on pc, not linking anything, new bank accounts etc.

I understand that i MUST be very cautious in my actions whilst the account is brand new so i'm certainly not trying to rush anything here like change a load of information so early on.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.

For returns, I physically change the address on the PACKAGE label - I would NOT change the address of the eB/pp account.

The beauty of po box is that you can have a new address that is "your" po box...

Don't use your stealth for buying.

I have a account with my genuine details for buying even though I already have a eBay account suspended with my info.

What did you discuss with your seller as well?


truly you should avoid changing too much until the account is really functioning.

You can always purchase a few eBooks or recipes , they are usually .99cents and emailed to you, just don't buy 50 in one day

Do NOT change the registered address on the account.

Just add the Lancashire address as a return / delivery address. Do not put anyone else's name on the account either.

Use a seperate account for buying and selling.

Stealth buyer accounts are very rarely red flagged or suspended so you may get away with breaking one or two rules (such as using a previous address).

Seller accounts have to differ from your previously suspended account in every single way.

If you want to buy items for feedback, then use a PO Box. You can edit the shipping address on your PayPal account to include your business partners name if you really must. Personally I would use the same 'stealth' name on the account.

Selling cheap $1 items for feedback is better than buying and you will lose less money that way.

Cheers guys. The seller did advise me well (ebayorbust) but i wanted to ask some more specific questions in the right place i.e. the forum.

So i'm just going to leave everything as it is but when someone asks to return something i will tell them to send it to my business partners address and just put his initials on it. That should be enough for the post office to hand it over if we have to go collect a missed parcel.
I wont buy on the account either. I have done a couple days browsing so i'm going to upload some cheap household items today that will almost certainly sell.

Just worried that if someone opens a case it shows the return address in the top right corner i.e. not ours! So i'm worried they may be a bit daft and either not see my message advising them to send to our address in lancs and/or they might be hasty and not wait for a reply and just send it the "return address" displayed on the open case...before i've had chance to say otherwise.

If they are paying through paypal then do not be surprised if they refuse to return it to any other address but your addresses linked to the account.

Plus ebay will be taking over returns soon.
