Called eBay for Increase but......
 

I know most of you guys are of the opinion that this is a big no no, but my current batch of accounts are not too valuable to me so I am willing to gamble on them and fast track the increases by calling them up.

Anyway this is the first time I have called up about this account, so we had the usual discussion, and got the eBay representative to agree to an increase.

6 hours later, and still no increase is showing on my account, no email, no eBay message, nothing. I did call just before the closing hours, and it is a Friday am just thinking they will not get around to doing this until Monday now?

Anyone else experience anything like this?

Hi,

Any time i've called them on a stealth account and asked for an increase - I have done it twice now on the phone and a few times via the 'chat' service (if you can call it that!).

On the phone - i was busted, asked to provide details on suppliers etc, thankfully i could get creative and sort this out, sent it on them and hey presto. If you get the team in Ireland, if you play dumb enough you should be okay, I've spoken to them twice in the space of 2 years regarding two separate accounts and both were increased, most recent account (which funnily enough now has a definite ban) was increased there and then, effective immediate.

That's my history, I wouldn't if I were you be too concerned at this stage, give them a call on Monday and just chase it up, be polite etc etc, have a joke and a laugh - but be very careful with what you sell as your account is now in their radar - I was selling Vero and everything had been fine on both accounts, as soon as you call, boom your account's on a countdown :(

I stick by the fact that it is a very risky tactic.

VERY high chances of being asked for additional docs, supplier info etc...it just draws extra scrutiny of your accounts.

But if you dont mind burning accounts go for it...

The range I sell, I doubt I will get asked for supplier info or additional docs, simply because I make my own products. (Obviously there is the material I use, but I doubt they will ever ask for this)

My main stealth account which I ran for over a year reached 7000 listings per month selling limit by calling in pretty much every month. (The account got banned but due to other reasons)

Mistake I made then was it was my only stealth account, had no back ups, now I am running 5 active selling accounts at every given time, if one goes down will have another one ready to go active as a selling account.
