Wasted PayPal Account

Searched the forum, can't seem to find the exact answer.

I have a Paypal account that is going to waste. The linked eBay account was suspended over a year ago.
I want to link a website of mine to the PayPal account.

However, the items I would sell on the website would be identical to those I sell on a different stealth eBay/PayPal account, with completely different contact info.

It would be like 2 different entities selling EXACTLY the same products. Pictures and all.

Could the link be made? Could a customer hypothetically spot the items on the website, also see them on eBay and ask through eBay messaging if I also own this website? Do eBay look that closely at messages exchanged?

I'd rather not link the website to my up-and-running eBay account as I'm trying to keep risks and complications low.

I'd rather use a PayPal account that's just sitting there. Smaller risk if it goes down for any reason.

I am just wondering why you can't change photographs or description for one or the other, unless you are just using the stock material from a supplier, in which case how many other people are using the same stock material?

There are no 'stock pictures' as such for what I sell. You can't buy them in shops. It's a very unique product and if it's seen on eBay and then seen on a website, it'll be very obvious it's run by the same person.

Not bothered about normal folk seeing them on both eBay and a website but I'm just worried about a link being made if anybody came asking questions through eBay messaging. For instance:

"I saw this exact same item on www.websitename.com. Is this your site?"

I wouldn't want them mentioning the website name in the message.

Maybe I'm thinking too much...!

Do that.

It will sort the problem of worrying about a toerag customer making the link & compromising you.

Use that paypal for purchases only off ebay.

Sorted.

And it wouldn't matter that I'm also selling same items on eBay with a completely different PayPal? Customers would be the one to raise flags, if flags were to be raised.
Simply because they see the same items and ask me about them through the eBay messaging system. Or maybe purchase from both eBay and the website but see different addresses from each PayPal account :/

I think, unless you give most people reason to notice, most people don't realize what colour socks they have on.

I suspect a lot of people are keeping their website separate from ebay with the way ebay are these days.

I have done this before - since the eB account was limited but NOT paypal, it is possible to sell the same items off of eB.

I still have the pp account alive and no limitations and what not (this account dates from 2008/2009)

On your own website though?

You have not exactly answered in terms of what the OP asked....

Confirm could you.

Re: Website?

Yes my own small website for these particular products.

No affiliation to eB - I don't sell these items on eB.

Paypal is fully verified

Re: Website?

We used to have our site, a few alternatives, and ebay all on different paypals selling the same products. Even when we started cross advertising between them all, no one mentioned the difference.
Worry more about what you can control, as it is generally those things that get you kicked.
