Ebay mc999 restriction new seller
 

Just spoken to Ebay after getting one of these. Just to let you all know they have told me its a new policy to authenticate new accounts. They ask some simple questions and reinstate your account. I think its because I started selling straight away. It was really no problem. Just acted Dumb. :clap:

they don't do this for every new account, they've just been trained to tell you they do

you should have your bank confirmed, paypal fully verified, before you try to sell anything

Welcome to the forums - glad you got it solved.

As you read around the forums, you will that this is not a new issue

I have many new accounts and no mc999 and they are certainly not reserved for new sellers:clap:

Happens now and again but still unsure what the trigger is, the same as the instant ID request just one of those things you have to deal with.

I can’t imagine how many family businesses they have ruined by eBay and there ruthless
ways its scary!!! that's why I don't take it to seriously and have a real job and be my own boss

I will never keep all my eggs in the eBay basket. These MC999 have caused me two accounts.

This used to just be for USA accounts.. strange.

Seems like every account I make gets this, even when listing a 99p paperback book.

I called them and they asked me to send in a picture of my ID to verify myself. Which I couldn't do.. Seems like they're clamping down on stealth accounts.

It depends highly in how you create and use your account.. :)

It doesn't effect everyone.
