Is the seller responsible

Is the seller responsible for lost eBay items in the post?

Re: Is the seller responsible

Yes the seller is responsible because it could of been due to poor packaging. The mail service you used is also responsible if it got lost. How did you post the item?

Re: Is the seller responsible

Yes you are that is why you mail items recorded..as ebay look if the item was delivered from the buyers closest sorting office.

If you have a tracking number contact your post office. By poor packaging I meant the label isn't on properly. This happened to me once but since my stock was in abundance I sent the item again.

If you paid for an item and nothing turns up then who would you blame?

Also is it lost or delayed?

The royal mail mentality is that they can only get it wrong once on each item. so once it is late then it will be left in a pile while they deal with the new parcels, until they have a lull to deal with the stack of cages of late mail on the back wall.

Seller is liable to compensate the buyer.

Seller makes a claim against the relevant carrier if appropriate.

then why did you think the seller was not responsible?

A seller gotta do what a seller has to do to get that item to the buyer.

Every step needs to be taken especially if you need to use Royal Fail.

good one for having insurance.

Always cover your back.

I ask the question so its on here all to see
I always insure now after royal Mail staff used a Stanley knife blade to slip the packets open and nick the contents
no wonder they have sacked 600 employes last year for nicking

WOW how did you find that out?

It always bugs me when they ask me what is in all my parcels.. Even since most my parcels are mailed in the UK and don't require a customs form so no idea WHY they need to know what is inside.

In one case, the watchdog said that Royal Mail hired an armed robber released from prison after serving a sentence for raiding a post office.
Postcomm said Britain's 27 million households "are entitled to expect that when they post mail, it will reach its destination".

I think that is to do with changes concerning prohibited goods
