New to Paypal?

After opening a PP account, I added the bank account to the PP account.

It then brought me to a screen to show me the account information and for me to submit the info.

Once of the pieces of info was 'service users identification number'.

What is this? Is this related to my identification which I gave the bank upon opening my account?

I think I know what you're on about. It probably relates to PP's internal system, but I'm sure someone will enlighten us.

I'll upload a screenshot if it comes up on my next batch.

Service users identification numbers identify the Direct Debit originator.

It's a number assigned by BACS to the banks in the UK. Usually is a six digit number.

It is related to the banks' ID, not yours, Spacecowboy99.

You mean sort code?

Every branch has its own sort code

Re: New to Paypal?

Majority of banking transactions are number coded to assist in tracing of payments.

No, it does not mean a sort code. That is a different set of numbers entirely.

Bacs was Bankers Automated Clearing Services. This 6 digit number is one that is used with Direct Debit transactions to identify the originating bank of the transaction.
