Halifax bank no good for stealth

I had the halifax close my account as they didn't like paypal
depositing money in to it so just a warning and anyone else had a problem with them?

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

So PayPal just deposited money into your bank account and Halifax closed the bank account because of that? Sounds like there is a bit more to it than that.

What sort of monetary value was the deposit? Have you opened and closed a lot of accounts with Halifax in a short space of time?

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

You used your sons bank account for a withdrawal from PayPal? Really not a good idea....

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

You must have been doing something wrong as i have multiple stealth accounts with them and have no problems.

Its also not good when a bank closes your account. They tend to report it to the credit reference agencies and its stops others from letting you open accounts.

.....and especially as it isn't even stevebills' bank account makes this ten times worse! Proceed with caution Steve!

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

I can explain this (in the industry bla bla bla)

Your sons account is a youth account and not a full current account opened by an adult. By using it for deposits of money fromother sources raises questions that it is not being used for the purpose of your son. It would also be the case for any childs account receiving funds in that way.

They have the right to close an account if they deem it not being used for purpose and they did here.

Edit: I am surprised that they closed it before writing though. Did the paypal reference say 'crack money for kids' on it or something? :P

What's so funny about your stupdity?

You made the error by misusing another person's account.

I feel sorry for your son. You know better than doing stupid stuff like this in his name.

Do you currently use all 6 or are you able to close one? because you can do it online :)

Also if you apply for another Easy Cash card you will be able to make more savings accounts. (3 more if i remember)

JamesNorth101 08-27-2014 07:36 AM

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

You can have a lot more than 6 bank accounts

Walk up your local high street, chances are you will walk past more than 3 banks. You can easily have 2/3 accounts with each bank. That is 9 already.

No need to use other peoples bank accounts, just go out and own some more yourself.

stevebills 08-27-2014 08:05 AM

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

have applied online for a Halifa Easy Cash card wait and see now

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

Best thing may have been to look towards another bank for now.

Fair number of them about, no need to stick to just one.

Did it ask you to take ID into the bank or did they just open/approve it? :bored:

Kiroshi 08-27-2014 10:17 AM

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

The Halifax online savers work just fine, you can have about 4 in ADDITION to 3 current accounts. Thats 7 accounts for receiving money with 1 bank

pmtrump101 08-27-2014 10:46 AM

Re: Halifax bank no good for stealth

Everytime I opened a bank account, I asked about how many account can I open with this bank. They told me as much as I wanted as long as I pay the fees. I explained im selling on Ebay and needed 1 account for each product. So theres no excuse for that. Lets say you open 8 bank accounts and open 5 account in each, its 40 Paypal... Its quite enough... I think. If its not enough open a few US account with VCC and VBA... I mean you can have 100 accounts without problem. No need for your son bank account, I think. :thumb:

I wouldnt say that. The issue is that you are using a childs account for your money and they didnt like that.

Are you going for the title of ...................................... ? ( fill in the blanks).

It is misuse and abuse by the people using the bank accounts that make the issues.

Correctly used majority of banks in the UK are fine for paypal use.

So stop with these weeping tales of woe that you made happen because of your own actions.

Learn to use banks correctly.

Good Luck
