Hit with the MC9999, Want to start afresh - Using the same Dongle?

Okay, I recently set up a new EB account and PP account.

Verified everything well. Got listing.

Listed my first item and 30 minutes later got the MC9999 notification. Was asked to call up, which I did, they requested ID, and an image of me holding my product in my hand with my user ID.

Couldn't be asked. (PS their reasoning for the MC9999 was the stupidest I've heard, but let's not get into that)

Anyway, I want to start afresh - with both EB and PP.

I normally buy seperate dongles, on different networks. I've run out of networks and don't want to spend more money. The dongle/network I used for the above accounts had EXCELLENT signal strength. I want to stick with it.

I kept note of the IPs used when logging in to the above accounts.

My question;

How SAFE is it to use the same dongle/SIM/network? Keeping note to use IPs not previously used - is that simply enough?

I will be creating a new user account on my desktop and using a different browser.

I'd just like to be sure - as I really don't want to mess this one up, therefore needing to open a new bank account, buy another VCC, phone number etc.

Thanks!

So long as you keep track of IP addresses you are fine to use a dongle on the same network.

What sort of item did you list as your first time?

Phew, okay. Should save me some spare change and time!

It was my own product, custom made - so no invoice, as to why they asked for my picture with item in hand.

Chances are you will just get the same MC999 again.

Always worth trying to save an account. Try supplying the information they have requested and then explaining that the items are hand made. Seems like a waste of a bank account to not give it a go.

Oh, I've decided not to sell the same item on EB anymore. Elsewhere makes more sense for me.

The new account I want to set up as a private seller (rather than a business seller), likewise with the PP account - a premier account rather than a business account, and just sell the things I have at home to raise some money.

(I remember the advisor on the phone - who was actually quite nice - said something like 'if you were a private seller we would have just reinstated your account but as a business we need to request these things')

That stuck with me. Hopefully I can get the ball rolling now.

PS. I really do hate EB and PP but its like one of those love-hate relationships. Can't live with them, can't live without them lol.

And looks like I've reached my daily posting.. I'll keep checking back at this thread for any updates. If I don't respond its because I can't :(

Read this.

It seems that:

– eB Private Seller / PP Premier Account = usually a guy who sells own items, homemade ones, etc., but not in "lots", not "wholesale", not all "100s new". And the most important part - may or may not accept returns. To be a Top-rated Seller some day, to accept returns is a must;
– eB Business Seller / PP Business Account = usually a business/selfemployed/etc. who usually "buys" lots from elsewhere and sells here, might have many items as "new", usually for profit. Have to accept returns. Have to deal with supplier invoices/contacts/documents (and if you're big - with a legal certificate to sale such items as a an official representative/retailer or so; and/or VEROs).

If I were you, I would start few new ones PPs/eBs and test with both Private+Premier and Business+Business. Of course - on 4 x VPSes.

Why suggest the expense of VPS when a dongle will work better?

Another salient issue is that business accounts get asked for info, business plans much quicker than personal plans.

They are tricky to create AND not link to old banned infoi.

On paper, they should better. In practice, they are not.

Try switching a dongle within 1-2 seconds.

Also because he is saying:

No more purchases of dongles.
