natwest current and the error is above it says there serve is down

Ring up paypal and try adding it via the automated service, usually does the trick when I get that error.

Paypal are now checking names and addresses with credit bureau data when you phone up to add a bank.

Has happened 3 times in the last two weeks.

@stevebills, I had same issues. When I called Paypal, they checked database and never passed.

I used automated service and all worked within 30 sec.

What is the way to go to use the automated service? I always get sent to an agent.

Keep at it stevebills, i've been getting the message for the past 3 weeks and finally just now it added it.

I'd still like to know how to add on the telephone using the automated system however if anyone would like to share.

I had this error just adding a bank now. I actually had this problem before, but did not follow through with it, so I wanted to ask the forum for further elaboration.

Just tried to add a bank. Said sorry, we cannot add bank account at this time, please try again later, yada yada yada. I was like wtf？ Brand new bank acct, never been used. So, in frustration, I tried putting it again, and to my surprise, it says you have already added this bank account. Checked again, and it says bank has been linked in the new paypal skin.

Tried to check if it allows you to enter the two deposits, the old paypal has the spot for you to enter it, now it doesn't.

Question: Will they actually deposit it? Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks.

Can you use this automated line in the UK, had this error message for months now after it got locked in a loop with an old phone number. I called got phone number updated now I get the error everytime and with it being stealth I don't want to spk to someone to add so this automated line would be perfect

there is a glitch on paypal I rang them up and got them to add bank acount

Does this mean that if the bank name address details are different from the paypal name and address it will be rejected please ?

I had no choice it was over 3 weeks and still not working for me
the guy on the phone at PayPal said my bank account might be blacklisted and when he checked is was fine so he added it while is was on the phone :clap:

if they are checking a name and address and the bank account number against a credit agency list surely they will get the real name on a bank account number they submit to the credit agency.
So if your bank account in your real name for a stealth account, the names and addresses will not match ???

Also if you put a stealth name at an address for your stealth account it will flag up you have no credit history ??

I'm not really in a position to debate this as I dont work for paypal.

I am telling you what I personally experienced and what other have as well.

I didnt say anything about checking names on bank accounts. They ran the name and address through an Equifax database and stated they couldnt find me at that address. They then asked for a previous address. At this point the conversation ended.

Should also have said that mismatching names on bank accounts cannot be picked up on by Paypal.

Just if you are saying the call ends do you loose the account or the bank account at that point?

Did they give you a time? It is normally three years or six years depending on the company but just wondering what would happen if you said out of the country, in the armed forces, or even in prison for arguments sake. Although I think if you use the latter they may be the one ending the call at that point but maybe not as I am sure there is probably a law against discrimination against the poor prisoner...

The account was not limited. Still up and running with no issues.

If you are not a paypal employee how do you know they ran it through an equifax database ?

In this telephone call situation with paypal any person of a certain age should have some credit and or credit application history.
When you say the conversation ended when they asked for an address did the line drop and did paypal have any unanswered questions. Is it not unreasonable for paypal to think there was something wrong if they ask for an address and the conversation ends ?

I know because the pp rep stated he could NOT find me via an Equifax search.

Of course maybe I'm lying and I actually do work for paypal. :rolleyes:

I made an excuse to end the call.

Thanks for the reply if he found you on an equifax search for a stealth account then did you use information from a real person ?

a made up name would not be found

The best thing to do is the bank account you initially add make sure you will have access to this for the first year, and add a bank within the first month

From my experience, the verification has been happening when adding a second bank with an account that is less than 6 months old

And usually the first bank account if added within the first month I have had no trouble

Also I have added a second and third bank on one account that is only 3 months old with no problems, but it's an account that I have been active on, money in and out couple times a week

So when you make accounts now, add a bank account and phone number that you know you will have for the next 6 months to a year

Also it's important to keep the account active while its aging, but sell low priced unbranded items, so that money in and money out is always a low number, but it's constant

I think with every successful withdrawal you build a credibility with paypal , and the more active the account is the less hassles you will get with verifying info

The accounts that seem to have these issues are accounts that been dormant for the first 6 weeks or 2 months and than you try adding a bank account or make a withdrawal you raise flags

But accounts that have been selling $1 store items on a regular basis for 2 months have had less to no verification issues for me

I waited 3 weeks before I called as it wouldn't add for me

I wasn't implying this happens all the time. I was simply posting what I and a few other members have experienced.
