adding a bank account to paypal
 

Hi,

I a thinking to buy a paypal account, and my question is if i add a bank account to the paypal account, will paypal recognize my name, and will two paypal accounts get linked and new account get restricted then?

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Banks do not share your name with PayPal.

Certain banks should be avoided though (Lloyds and TSB being 2)

So long as you as you operate the accounts as stealth accounts they will not get linked.

you should probably buy the paypal acct with the Ebay acct to go with it.

They have been reported to not like mismatching name deposits

oh and to answer your question No, Paypal cannot verify the name. Bank wont communicate with them.

Widely report that Lloyds are not good for stealth although some people do report them working fine.

Plenty of other banks out there though instead of those two so no need to take the risk.

Also banks do not share your details with PayPal so as long as you have a bank that accepts miss-matching deposits you are good to go!

I have been trying to add a bank account to a Uk account.

The bank account is HSBC, I have 6 accounts with them and this latest one keeps telling me to try again later.

Been trying for three days now Grrrrrr!

Anyone know if there are any problems.

I would give it another 24 hours and try again. If you still have the same issues you may need to ring PayPal to get it manually added.

Is it a current or savers? Is it enabled for direct deposit?

It's a current and yes, it's enabled for direct deposits.
I'll keep trying, I've change browsers and made sure I'm on the uk paypal. Normally they go through straight away.

I really don't want to contact paypal about it, but I need to move funds from this account. It's 12 months old and I have never withdrawn, there's only about £500 in it but I have been using it for buying etc.

If phoning paypal a big deal?

I have never had issues phoning PayPal to add a bank account, but make sure you have all your details to hand.

Just phoned PayPal, took 2 hours 10 minutes to speak to a person and 5 minutes into sorting out a problem they cut me off. Arrrrgggghhh:mad2:

When you reply, look at the flag of the poster.

UK accounts are done differently from USA.

Bank accounts are not always added to paypal packages.

It's important to know this.

HSBC has been giving some UK users hassles in the last 18 days.

Thanks for letting me know. I will persevere.

Luckily the account i was adding it to is just over 12 months old and never hit the £1900 as I sold on it and left it for 9 months.

I was in the UK in June and I'm kicking myself for not opening some accounts at Halifax.

If PayPal can't see mane and address of the bank can I add a bank account from UK to my latvian PayPal account? On PayPal system it is possible, because it is asking for sort code and acc nr. but in our banking system in Latvia there are no such a sort codes and acc nr. We are using IBAN numbers.
So in theory I can add bank account from UK to my Latvian PayPal, and PayPal wouldn't be able to see if name and address are correct?

Paypal cannot see the name and address of the person just via their bank account
