ebay website problem consequences
 

hi i sold 2 items today and they made way below what they were worth due obviously to the ebay glitch, can i cancel that transaction or do i still have to ship it even though customers obviously couldn't bid on it?

Your item sold already? if it is then do not cancel transaction, it will affect your DSR. If the items are listed and not have any bids on them then you can cancel it.

I'm not sure if eBay will do anything about that, maybe someone else will know. I don't do auctions, so no idea. It depends how much the items cost and also if you made a loss. If you didn't make a loss, then I would just say send them out and protect your account. Some people get mad if you cancel a transaction. I don't do it myself, but have seen people leave negatives because of this.

If you really didn't want to send the item you can either say you went to package it and it has a fault on it (depends what you're selling, but you could say it has a big chip or crack in it). The second option would to say you sent it, and pretend it got lost in the post and be apologetic, although with this I have the problem that if the buyer is a nice person they have waited days for nothing. I personally wouldn't do that and would perhaps go for the damaged option.

Best to ship the item out anyway.

Not worth loosing an account over a bit of lost profit.

If its a massive lost I would refund buyer and even tell them its was lost in the post if u have to
A small lost just post it out and save your account from a defect and move on

When ebay has had issues in the recent past like this, they send out an email after 2/3 days saying you dont need to honour any auctions that finished around the server downtime.

Any feedback etc is removable.

So if you have took a hit, id wait a few days for that email.

Few choices: ship out or communicate with buyers and hope they cancel. The eBay notification e-mail is not always 100% assured of coming - you can also take the chance to wait.
