| | | Iron_chin | 10-04-2014 12:25 PM | Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. A buyer tried claiming INR even though recieved and signed for. Tracking was shown and I have messages from the buter claiming they didn't recieve, the first 2 hours after signing for it, and the 2 more the day after. Now they have opened a snad case and basically trying to return something which from the sounds if it has been abused and maybe even water danaged (it was a phone) they say the speakers don't work, wifi doesn't work, low battery life, volume buttons don't work. Now I have really good feedback for high value item like this and would never have ripped someone off or sold something in this condition. So will eBay take into consideration that the buyer tried it on with me from day one claiming INR? |
| JamesNorth101 | 10-04-2014 12:28 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. Chances are you will have to accept the return regardless of everything else. eBay panders to buyers. |
| Iron_chin | 10-04-2014 12:42 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. Well I have already but the disputed amount into PayPal to keep my account in good standing, but I think it's really unfair of they go ahead a refund this guy for something which he has clearly messed up or is looking to send a faulty one back. What if the item is not in the same cosmetic condition as the one I sent? Would that help, as the one I sent was pretty much brand new minus the cellophane wrapping in the box. |
| benny | 10-04-2014 01:13 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. sadly you will loose out, thats the way it is nowadays, i have sold laptops and had someone return one saying it does not turn on, it was clear to see they had simply ordered it from me to get a new processor for free as they took out the quad core processor and returned the laptop for a full refund as snad..... i spoke to eb many times trying to sort it and get them to accept my side of it as i have a near perfect record and 1000's of happy customers, sent recorded etc etc etc bottom line from ebay...
if i cannot prove it was sent with a processor installed and returned without one (impossible of course) then they will refund and i will have to pay it, end of ......
and remember they now have 6 months to return ... |

sorry mate |
| just_smile | 10-04-2014 01:17 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. If the buyer sends back a different phone, your only recourse is the small claims court. You would have a tough job proving it though.
Unfortunately ebay will be of no help to you. They have no way of knowing who is telling the truth. |
| benny | 10-04-2014 01:20 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. sadly a sellers reputation, high standing, a1 seller record, perfect feedback, etc etc etc mean nothing in a case like this,
just look how many very very good sellers who have been with eb for years get blown out for little or no reason, their rep etc means nothing,
eb simply goes ... click, click, bye bye |
| Iron_chin | 10-04-2014 01:24 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. What a farce. We pay the fees they should be looking after us. It's a joke that my feedback is pretty much perfect yet they are going to take the word of a 13 feedback buyer over mine. Especially since I have all these messages to prove he has been trying it on since day one. |
| Iron_chin | 10-04-2014 01:26 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. And it's no that I don't want to take a return as I have do e in the past, but this is a joke, it's been over a month since he purchased the phone. |
| JamesNorth101 | 10-04-2014 01:36 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. Unfortunately that is just the way it is these days.
Best thing to do is to just accept it and move on to recoup your losses. Sucks but really is the best thing in the long run |
| Iron_chin | 10-04-2014 01:56 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. Hmmm. It's really frustrating. eBay has good points but it's the bad stuff like this that really puts me off, thing is there are no real alternatives out there! |

It just happens from time to time and there is not much you can do about it.
Best practice is to take as many pictures as possible + ESN and IMEI to support your appeal. Your chances arent high even if you got all this.
Don't forget to report this buyer |
| Iron_chin | 10-04-2014 03:08 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. Yes I already reported the buyer when they opened an INR case and it was closed in my favour, but eBay being the idiots that they are have allowed him to open an snad case now. Also I have all these contradictory messages from him which in any court of law would be pretty straight forward but in eBay world it doesn't work like that I guess. Will put me £200 out if pocket thus will considering from what he is saying the phone is basically useless. |
| biglouis999 | 10-04-2014 05:47 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. Your best solution is to simply write it off as a tax loss!
Many sellers over charge slightly on postage to create a slush fund for "self insurance" in such cases as when they have to refund lying cheating buyers.
The4re are other solutions but I will not post them here. |
| Iron_chin | 10-04-2014 05:48 PM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. I charge less for postage, £2.15 less infact. :-( |
| benny | 10-05-2014 02:38 AM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. good luck to you anyway,
don't let it eat you up, its hard but forget it and move on |
| Iron_chin | 10-07-2014 09:01 AM | Re: Will ebay take this into consideration when looking at this case. OH Wow!!! I guess evay actually looked at the case and the specifics!!!
