Can I use my phone?
 

Want to use an old phone for checking emails on for ebay etc.

I have factory re-set the phone.

Its a Nexus 5, i believe.

I previously used the email on the phone for ebay, but the account is gone now.

So i used the factory re-set feature and now its back to scratch.

Was gonna put a new sim and just use it for email on one of my accounts so i can keep tabs on what is going on with it.

IS this ok to now, the phone is fresh?

gmail will be fine but no messages from the Ebay app as its not worth the risk

It is fine to check emails from the phone. To stay safe never reply to emails via the phone or click on links.

Also don't use the app if you have more than one account or have already used it with a previously banned ebay account.

Just use the emails as a way of keeping tabs on what you sell etc and log in manually on your pc to reply.

ok cool

yeah i never used the app, well not for years since i found out about the tracking.

ok so i will set up gmail on this damn phone for one of my accounts so i can keep tabs on whats going on without logging in all the damn time

I use my iPhone for accessing ebay and PayPal and never do anything else with it, so it only has cookies on it from those two sites and the IP address stays the same because before I login into eb and pp i turn settings on the phone, allow cookies from this site only, and turn off airplane mode on the phone as well, then when I am finished on the sites put the phone straight back into airplane mode and block all cookies, and that works perfectly
