Re: I have noticed that buyers name changes

If they pay with paypal, paypal/ebay recommend you send to the paypal address so you are cover for seller cover.

And, why not message the buyer and ask what the score is.......... I did recently with the same situation as your and luckily the buyer said send to paypal address.

If they said send to some next address not on paypal, it would raise flags for me and I would deal with it depending on the value of my tings, yeah dats tings man.

It's the best to ask the buyer to explain why.

They probably just bought a preset for someone else.

Re: I have noticed that buyers name changes

You will probably get more and more of these, like Artann said, it's probably people buying gifts. I have had this happen a lot and never had any issues. However I deal in sub £50 items, so less risk for me.

then that's a hassle.

What with seller defects & no guarantee of seller protection, it is a worry to have these things happening.

Bah.

Depends on the price of the item I suppose but if it is a larger amount you can request they add the address as a gift address to paypal.

But one of our accounts deals with a lot of students so it is normal. they move every year

Steve I would always send to the paypal address and not the ebay one and say that in your listings. If you read the ebay message that you get about their address it says something about it may change either by message or email.

The sold item message you get off ebay states:

Please note that the postage address may be different. You'll receive the postage address via email as soon as the buyer has completed checkout

Just copy/pasted that from a message and the only message you get after that with their address is from paypal.

Now back to watching thrift hunters and see if they get kicked off this season and have to come to aspkin for help to get back on, now that would be a funny show. But it is one hell of a way to make your account a protected account on ebay.

Just asked one buyer and they were sending ink carts to their daughter as she is a student 200 miles away from them

TO BE HONEST I GET ADDRESSES OFF EBAY AND PRINT LABELS OFF MYHERMES AND TOUCH WOOD ITS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD TO GO AND NO FRAUD AS YET AND ALL IT DOES IS CONFUSE ME WHEN MARKING IT AS DISPATCH AND RECHECKING EBAY REAL NAMES AGAINST LABEL NAMES:noidea:

Re: I have noticed that buyers name changes

I have also noticed the ebay real name is different from the delivery name even though the address is the same and correct:help:

Re: I have noticed that buyers name changes

Sorry but I do not understand where this thread is going.
There are tents of reasons why the address/name will not match or could be different from the eBay delivery address.

People doing presents, people buying with relatives accounts, stealth accounts or... people trying to scam you.

In any case, bear in mind what GB said in post #9

you will be covered with seller protection only by using Paypal shipping address.

The reason why address doesn't match is quite irrelevant imho.

Re: I have noticed that buyers name changes

stevebills 10-13-2014 07:29 AM

Re: I have noticed that buyers name changes

You decide what to do. Is your account, is your money.
