I just opened 3 uk ebay accounts.
 

Well i did it. I had problems with entropay saying they dont accept maestro to fund but in fact they do but it seems only if its a gold maestro if not use visa.
I can confirm the phone verification method still works but i didnt think it was going to work as my phone seemed too low as i dont know how to get it on speaker phone just for pressing buttons only calls but it worked without speaker phone so wahey.
Well next is on to paypal i opened up a second savings account online instantly and i can open up as many as i like(ANOTHER WAHEY) and i will have to try the phone verification method again which im not looking forward to but luckily i have quite a few phone boxes right around my address.lol. and yes btw ebay does accept entropay for seller fees incase anyones interested.

your gonna have a nightmare if you think paypal will let you do the phone verification using a phone box... setting up ebay is the easy part, its paypal that make it difficult for you...

With paypal, I just use my house phone, after its verified I straight away change the contact phone number on paypal to another made up number. Never had a problem with it so far and have had over 8 paypal accounts verified with it (And yet a couple have been banned years ago with home number)

Surely that phone number (the one associated with suspended accounts) is on file. I would imagine they will only need one more "red flag" and your account(s) will be in trouble.

In the meantime, perhaps you could sell these 3 iphones I am stuck with:mad:

If ebay account and paypal in ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name address etc and the notice on paypal comes up for etc "return account to regular standing" routing code it requires address verification and photo i.d to be able to collect over the £650 what do people do?Do you keep selling on it until they eventually limit you and then wait 180 days for the remainder of funds you have in it.

are we saying that we now need photo id for lifting limits, a few mths back it was just landline or address verification... I cant tell from from if this is routinely asked for or if an account is flagged as suspicious, i havenet got to limits on my accounts yet as i have multiple ones and am selling slowly.

Lets establish this first

Ive never seen that before ive seen the over £650 limit and they ask you to verify by taking a set amount from your credit card on file and then theres a code next to your set amounts taking out on your cc statement.

this is when its verified with the small micro deposits being taken from the bank and expuse number for ppal from a credit card too.
PayPal requires a copy of certain documents for verification purposes to return your account to regular standing.Please submit each of the following documents:
Valid photo ID
• Passport
• Driver's License
• National Identity Card
Proof of address
• Utility Bill
And to fill out business info date/if registered vat etc sales volume blah blah. You can withdraw £650 and send £1700 total. Thats it.

this is obviously a new paypal rule for everyone, a random thing, or on accounts that are flagged as bit suspect eg address and tel not matching.
Ive only been asked for EXPUSE, and confirm by landline or address.

They cant actually verify the id you send right, due to data protection, thats what Ive read on forum anyway, although I wonder about electoral registers and other info sources

yeah, as far as i know ebay/paypal cannot actually verify your id.
they don't have access to electoral register, do they?

everyone has access to electoral register, but you can choose not to be listed and also not everyone at an address over 18 is neccessarily listed anyway. so its hit and miss, I doubt theyd bother.

My Ebay account got suspended & my PayPal account limited 2 days before Xmas. They cancelled all listings and approx. 2 weeks worth of previous sales - so I spent most of Xmas trying to pacify irrate customers!

PayPal asked for the following:
Photo ID
Suppliers Contact Details
Proof of Address

and I had the option to upload documents or fax them through.

Following the advise in Ebay stealth - I uploaded relevant docs but blacked out info. that I would rather they didn't have - e.g. on my bank statement I was showing a transfer of money into my other bank account which is associated with a suspended Ebay account.

I blacked out a lot including passport number - but told them I was doing this as I was concerned about sending out sensitive info.

BOTH my Ebay and PayPal accounts were back up and running within 24 hours of them receiving the info. BUT I have only just started selling on them again and am feeling really wary that they may just decide to do it all over again as that seems to be what other members are saying...

Hopefully I'll last long enough to shift the 150 legit unbranded mp3 players I have!
