Activity: 0% Longevity: 92% | | Too many bank/savings accounts?
Now that it seems ebay uk new selling accounts are limited to selling 10 items a month, I now need to have more stealth accounts running to make up the difference.
This means opening more savings accounts with my bank. Has anyone had any problems with opening too many bank or savers account at same time?
This must look a bit dodgy to my bank is I have lots of savers open?!
Is there a way around opening so many?
Thanks in advance |

Being that the accounts are at 10 items they are not yet 'proven' and opening a bunch of accounts right now would just be a waste if you get shut down before they start bringing in any real money.
Just let them grow and see which accounts are worth the real bank.
And yes....it looks very dodgy if a rep gets nosy...

You have to space out opening accounts over weeks and month. I never have more than 4 bank accounts with any one bank.

Savers at some banks are problematic but others are good. Halifax is your starting point, nice bank along with HSBC as others have mentioned previously

Thanks in advance | Make it a mixutre of basic and savers accounts then.
That sits nicely |

And that is for the very reasons you mention.
Issue is that paypal flags such bank accounts thus possibly getting a stealth account flagged.
For my UK accounts, I happily use current & basic accounts. | The Following User Says Thank You to GreenBean For This Useful Post: | |

IBAN would be no use for EB UK. Need a UK sort code and account number.

The boat has sailed with IBAN cards and their use with Paypal.
The issuers of these cards have severely clamped down on their use.
Stick to UK banks.

Feel free to post your choices to confirm use for stealth.

Just to confirm, an IBAN account cannot be used at all on UK Paypal.
Virtually all UK banks are fine for stealth apart for Lloyds and also TSB.

If you have family members who will let you use there account which accepts mismatch will be ok as long they haven't got it there self's on there accounts but first make sure your stealth account is in good running order and taking in cash before adding a bank as it will be a waste of a good account what you don't want

Hi
I have recently got one of the stealth account and attached a Lloyds saver account as a fund bank. After a week, today, I received an email saying the followings:
Your bank has let us know that you can’t use your bank account ending in 7968to fund PayPal payments. If you already have a card linked to your PayPal account, we'll use it to fund your future payments
I just followed the ideas from the forum adding a saver account to my stealth PayPal. I have a First Direct current account also and I can apply for a saver account but I don't know if they are going to accept it
Also, I'm a bit worried that as the bank has been in touch with PayPal they might have got some more information about the account as the name.
Did anyone go through this?

In most cases it just means that the direct debit has been refused.
But Lloyds do have issues which is why it is advised to avoid using them only a few posts above.

Why on earth would you suggest using someone elses account when you can easily open your own accounts.

Someone else reactivated this thread from last October so might as well join in a bit, BigCJ your theory here is a prime example of the differences between UK and USA eBay, in USA you can open many eBay/PayPal accounts without the need to add an actual fully functioning bank account to them so you can wait and see if they are going to go the distance before committing to adding a bank without the worry of the bank being wasted if the accounts get suspended, whereas over here we have to add a real bank account to verify our paypal accounts and cannot really get anywhere without doing that. It is a crucial and very important fact over here.
