I ought to know this but I hardly bother to claim from RM, they give you such a runaround and it is a hassle but I do not have many INR anyway.
usually I get the print out proof, when I can be bothered to ask but the post office gave me just the receipt this time and they wrote the address on it and NO stamp - is that enough to claim? I could write that myself, so is that proof?? I suppose they write to the receiver anyway......
I just get the receipt, they write the postcode and house number on it.
Thats all you need to make a claim. Be aware that royal mail are writeing to every lost parcel recipient at the moment. If they dont reapond, they will reject your claim. Happened to me loads recently.
I just mean they do not stamp it with ink, so anyone could write the address on there - if this is enough then fine thanks for confirming....
this happened to me once, I remember once the receiver did not respond and I complained to RM when I got rejected and I got paid - it is not my fault they will not answer a letter, once they are refunded they couldnt care less...
I could be wrong but I'm fairly sure proof of posting isn't worth the paper it's written on anyway. eBay will only accept recorded delivery as proof, as far as I'm aware in any case.

For INR ebay need tracking.
To fight a paypal charge back, you only need proof of posting.
The pop is more for your records and so you can claim via royal mail if the item goes missing.
