Mail forwarding.....yes, i pay for this but on an as and when basis.
My thesis when i started out was that if items are cheap, il waver those returns. If its a dearer item, then will ask for it to be forwarded to me as it will be worth while paying.

When deciding, the question is whether you anticipate returns, how many on average and the cost of your items.
I dont anticipate an awful lot at all. My stuff is cheap, have tons of it, and most buyers have been happy to.get a bargain. Some of my items take me by surprise and go for high prices and if one of those was a return then id ask for it to be returned to me.

Theres always options of messaging buyers and giving them your real.address.to return to. Perhaps some other forum members can advise whether thats a good idea. To me....i.just want to keep real.details away.from stealth details as all it takes is a manual review from a bored worker and perhaps sees messages.
Im a.bit of a worriesome person lol

Always advised to not disclose company names due to overuse of addresses....but do some searching as their are plenty around :-)

Yes....sounds risky to me too
I.would be worried about manual reviews or buyers reporting. They themselves might wonder.why thwir seller is from say newcastle but asking to return to london.
I know im a bit of a scaredy cat...but i just want to limit.the risks in the best way i can.

If the item is quite expensive you cant forget it then send buyer a prepaid return label. Just email it to buyer to stick to the parcel drop of at parcel collection center or wait for courier to pick it up at their home.

I think that is the best option.

Get a mail forwarding if you will be anticipating several returns in a month

I agree....thats why my mail forwarding is set.to.as and.when...kind of pay as you.go.
Theres no way i would pay for return postage of a really cheap item but of course would for a dearer item :-)

Re: where to get NEW UK Address

On the odd time I get a return request I always just send my buyer a pre-addressed/stamped envelope with my real address on it with a note asking them to return it direct to my warehouse not my registered office address.

Only had 3 returns in the last year so worked out cheaper for me this way than a PO box or mail forwarding company. plus I've gotten perfect feedback from the buyer too as it was no expence or hassle to them.

Attach a printed within your package with thankyour for your purchase, please leave a 5 star rating blah blah... And if for any reason you are unsatisifed with the item then please return to returns address on reverse of envelope or give them a small cut out section in the slip to attach to the item with their user id also so you know who it is from.
I have used that method, and when they message me, i tell them yes follow the details on the note attached for return.

What uk address options would you recommend , as buying a po-box etc... is not ideal as I wouldn't be able to cover the costs against sales

thanks

Re: where to get NEW UK Address

I add a sticky label with a return address on it, I write on the back of it "return label if required" the buyer then just sticks it back on the parcel.
I reckon the less hassle a buyer has preparing a return the better.
I've even had returns with no contact - just came back with a little note saying returning this as too small/big/ no longer wanted.
