How to remove ebay beacon
 

Hello Guys!

I have just bought this new computer and I noticed in the history that its been used on ebay before. I have cleared cookies and now I need to clear the beacons.

Could someone pls put a novice through the easiest way to clear those beacons and prepare this system for a fresh start.

I think once I set this system up on internet, the beacon will be active even if I do not visit ebay. So, as a precaution, I do not want to attach my new dongles to this system until the beacons has been cleared.

Pls put me through how to clear beacons

why not do a fresh install

You can always do any of the following:
1. Do a Fresh Install as Stevebills suggested
2. Create a New User Account on the PC
3. Use a Portable Browser

I would wipe the computer and start fresh. Much less of a chance of anything going wrong that way. I buy used PC's for my stealth accounts and I ALWAYS wipe them.

Can you not get rid just by deleting all internet browse history?

Deleting the history is not enough to clear the persistent cookies. There should be a law prohibiting these cookies, they are just invasion of privacy.

OP if you are not tech savvy, YouTube is there to help you reformat your computer but if you are still scared, I would go with the portable browser option and yes you can put it on a USB hence the name portable.

It's a gem of a way to do stealth. Proviso is setting everything up correctly.

Look at posts by MM78 on the topic anyhere else as well.

He is my Guru for this and many other methods for great stealth.

what about ccleaner, all settings checked inc. LSO?

I do have CC cleaner but I would need people to confirm if it does clean Beacons. I have no other ways to verify unless people can guarantee on there that it does clean beacons and nothing hidden

dont bother with cc cleaner just create a new user its safer

what exactly are web beacons? all I know about is flash cookies, locally shared objects, and cookies...are web beacons an entirely different thing? I thought they were just tracking cookies eg. just keeping images on email on 'do not show' and cleaning up regularly should remove them, if sites are tracking you and you can get thrid party ones too.....

Best to keep seperate users though, but because we all make slip ups, would be helpful to know how to remove if needed - I think the spyware removers are helpful too.....
