Can I just add something here.

I am a long standing Tesco bank customer and just had a first payment transfer after original verification rejected by tesco from their online saver account. Paypal have now taken this account away so will need to open elsewhere.

1p test verification - worked fine

£145 transfer - Rejected by tesco and returned

This is all getting confusing isnt it.
Think callidus mentioned.in another post that Halifax was a.problem with withdrawals for some(Sorry callidus if i got that wrong)
Have just made my first withdrawal to there since going stealth and it worked for me.
The issue now appears to me to be trial and error. Whats working for one might not be working for another.

Halifax has always worked perfect for me, not a single problem. Only thing is I am running 4 accounts through them and that is the max amount of saver accounts you can get, hence me needing to look elsewhere.

Whereas Calidus has indeed had lots of issues with Halfiax, yet others have not had issues with Tesco!

You're right, lots of issues with Halifax my end but again as you say some have had no issues with Tesco. Makes things hard to pick out what the problem is for sure.

Nationwide is good but the savers is a nightmare. I had a chew on getting the code in the beginning. An utter nightmare.
Santander ive had no probs with either.
Have done an experiment with TSB with the knowledge it could go down. Did a name variation which i wouldnt normally do....but i got the code and its up and running. Havent withdrawn to it yet, so i wont know if there is a problem there or not. But i set it up knowing i was taking a risk

DO NOT proceed with TSB! From my own personal experiences just do not go there!

Already have.....have bids on now.
Should i go with it as i knew it was a risk....the name variation is very very close to my own
Or should i abandon ship now?

From my own personal issues with banks in recent months with mismatched names, this is always been a no-no and even more so now, NO..! Up to you though, just giving you my experiences to make an informed decision. :)

Callidus, it is ONLY ever hard to pick out what any problem is for sure, when wrong, exaggerated and misleading info is fed to posters.

I am going to start selling crystal balls more often.

Might help interpret the rubbish posted.

Ouch why did you go with TSB? it was only mentioned a million times that it's a bad idea :(. Oh well open another account and add that one too

Im aware i went into it as a risk. The accounts i had previously that went pear shaped due to family info, before i went stealth, were linked to lloyds. Everything was in my sister in laws name and i withdrew to it ok.
Shall i see how it goes or just add another bank?

If you withdrew to a tsb account before and it was ok then maybe worth a shot, the payment may be returned to PP.

Thanks sax4
i did it as an experiment and knew the risk.
The items i have for sale on this account.are cheap cheap. So i will try a withdrawal when i have money in there. I have deliberately gone.cheap on what im selling on this one and it will probably take me an age just to get £50 in there. But i will go with it when i can and if it doesnt work out then thats cool. Im prepared that the worst could happen.

I perhaps shouldnt have mwntioned my experiment coz i dont want to influence people to.do the same...ie newbies like myself.
It was purely an experiment.
If you would all like my post on this removed, then im cool with that.
Im in no way influencing.anyone to do this.
Thanks :-)

Has anyone tried Post Office savers accounts?

I thought with paypal it didn't matter what the name was on the paypal account. I have 2 new paypal accounts & tried adding Natwest Saver accounts but no good.

Any Ideas what bank best to use? Not Halifax either as I had Issues with them need a easy to get Bank account meaning no credit checks.

Thanks for any Infomation.

Do you understand that once they cotton on to the mismatch names (which will be in under a few weeks), accounts WILL be closed with funds held until proof of where they have come from are given, i.e. invoices, ownership etc - this comes with a lot of risks and a timescale for frozen funds won't be given.

Strongly advise moving away from this asap.

Have got rid now....there was such a close match name variation that i figured if it went through then great, but if not, not a.problem.
I purposely listed £1.00 items that i knew wouldnt sell for more.than £2.00 with free delivery. My intention was to experiment and try a.withdrawal and see.what happenned then build on it if i went well.
I went about this using a name variation which i wouldnt advise but as said for experimental purposes
For example Anna Poppy....to Ann Popp
A very subtle change. Was verified and confirmed and had bids so figured maybe it was.cool to see what happenned.
Rather than mess around adding another account, ive just.abandoned it and gonna set up another one in January. Thinking now might be a bad time to make another.new account.
Thanks Callidus for your.advice.

Just add another bank to it that accepts mismatch names. :)
