Data Protection Act - Paypal

All

So one of my recently suspended stealth accounts, was closed when i submitted docs to lift the £1,900 limit and they closed the account when they did the new verification checks.

Anyway, ive emailed them to send me through all the info on third party companies they shared my info with when verifying my data..under data protection they have to supply this info...will let you guys know what happens.

I would suggest you do the same, we can then atleast start digesting some valuable info.

Regards

You think they will respond?

As you know all the companies info is in the new terms and conditions page.

If they dont, will send a letter from my solicitor see how they react, if at all..

Yes ive had a look at the new companies list..the one that scares me is

IDchecker.com

These guys have some serious verification capabilities!

Their system can be fooled. At least is lessens the weight they place on finding someone in a consumer database. I looked at their site and was searching for ONE specific piece of information - their ACCURACY rate - and couldn't find it. That tells me they don't want to highlight it.

Where the hell are they going to get comparison data for FACIAL recognition? Facebook?

Accuracy is 95 to 99% depending on which "package" is used. It is on their website but can't remember exactly where I read it to post the link.

The facial recognition part (if used) compares a webcam image of the person to the image on the ID.

No one knows as yet how detailed these checks will be so until it goes live for new account registrations we can only speculate.

ID document verification | StrongID | IDchecker

Scroll down, it shows the accuracy rate of each package.
