contacting ebay via live chat - flags accounts?

any idea if this is true?

i get the hunch contacting ebay with stealth accounts for ANY reason is pretty risky?

That is common occurence.

Happens to every account, including real accounts. It is typical customer service from ebay. Shame we can't mark them down with a defect for communication.

on a side note,

ive had 3 buyers initiate a item not recieve case which have been closed after they recieved the item in the end.

but these defects re still showing up on the dashbaord.

shouldnt these be removed?

the ebay rep said any defects which need to be removed are done so automatically on wednesdays.

Re: contacting ebay via live chat - flags accounts?

is there any way to check which buyers left defects?

just_smile 12-30-2014 10:11 AM

Re: contacting ebay via live chat - flags accounts?

You check by downloading your defect reports. Located on your seller dashboard.

Those INR defects are not eligable for removal. You would need to get a very nice rep for them to comply with your request.

i dont understand why not?

the buyers opened the INR case because they failed to sign for the item, once they recieved it they closed the INR cases...so i dont understand how it makes that a INR defect?

i have tracking id to prove it was delivered to them too.

Re: contacting ebay via live chat - flags accounts?

Ebay say if the buyer had to open the INR in the first place then it counts as a defect as the parcel is late according to ebays delivery estimates.

The only way to stop those INR becoming defects is to upload your tracking and on the 8th day esculate the case to ebay. They will rule in your favour and remove the defect.

what happens in the case of the buyer failing to sign for the item on the expected delivery date but doesnt rearrange delivery until way passed the expected delivery date?

Re: contacting ebay via live chat - flags accounts?

Its your responsibility until the tracking shows as delivered.

Does not matter the reason.

The only thing you can do to protect yourself against these defects at the moment is have a couple of times to "dilute" them.

Yes I'd like to know what "dilute times" means.

Triple echo that, we would all like to know what 'dilute' means in relation to delivery time seller rating markdowns, anybody......

Make a couple of sales to overcome the effects of the defects

In other words, repair the DSRs, the dings, the damages by better results & thus dilute the negatives.

Re: contacting ebay via live chat - flags accounts?

I'm trying to do this at the moment with cheap items but one of the problems is that they sell slow because the big volume sellers get all the visibilty. I am considering opening a new account and letting my old account recover. Supposedly it will reset itself after twelve month. BUT I'm getting conflicting opinions as to whether this true and wise. Any thoughts anyone?

EDIT: Not use if i should have added it here or started a new thread so apologies.

You are fine adding this comment here, when you say you think your account will reset itself after twelve months, you are meaning your account limits will reset? You can get listing limits increased just by listing up to your limits each month and you may find you can list more with generic increases, finding your items are sidelined in favour of big volume sellers is a bit hit and miss as well, people on here are finding that it can be new sellers who get the listing visibility.

Apologies - I meant the DSR rating. I read that after 12 months the rating will reset.
Here is the quote from another site. Please note that the quote is not replying to me!
"If your defect rate is almost 6%, then yes – I would recommend just opening a new account and start from scratch. You can still leave this account and use again after 12 months when defect rate gets reset."

This was on the Andreminalto website.

Makes sense and should be common knowledge TBF

they are over a 12month period after all.
