PayPal limited but eBay account still intact so...
 

I got limited by PayPal for selling non-Vero stuff off-eBay but my eBay account (in the same name etc) has not been affected. Sadly I'm now without a PayPal account to use with my 100+ ebay account so I'm wondering whether it's safe to use a "new" PayPal account with that eBay account or will it suffer from "guilt-by-association"?

If the limited paypal account was previously attached to the good eBay account, attaching a new paypal to the good eBay will create a link, and its highly likely the new paypal will also get limited. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

The link will unfortunately be there so your next option is to make another fresh pp and eb account and start again :-)

I got away with it up to the EU selling limit and put a holiday notification for the shop, but one went down yesterday.

The problem is the 21 day holds, so whereas you may be able to get some money out till they see the link, you may end up having funds pending like I did - and that means 180 day wait for the money when they do do it. Its a gamble. I got half out.

Also pay your fees with a gift card.

I've always paid my fees with my PayPal balance. I do a one off payment every few days. Been doing this since 2011 & never had any problems. Just got to make sure there's enough in there to cover them so they don't dip in to your bank account.

Not a good longterm plan to simply add a new PP - can go down (never know exactly when though) by association...

I am referring to the answer i gave to the OP - you cant pay your fees for your ebay account that is using it second paypal account. That is a chronic link.

Sorry my bad. Didn't read properly. That'll teach me from now on :lol: yep you're correct. Be a very bad move!
