changing ip address

I know its against some wisdom, but im willing to try. I want to open one last account using real details (diff name, bank etc) at my correct address may change house number to house number +a or b etc).

how do I change my ip address on a post office broadband router? tried unplugging it for a few mins but that didn't work

Yes, we are against it....but do you know why were against it? And are you using real info because you don't want to actually get your hands dirty with stealth accounts?

This one I'll leave to the UK stealthers.

Also, what other precautions are you going to take so you don't destroy someone else's info?

Re: changing ip address

a lot of what I sell is collection only, so I need an accurate ish address for search results.

its my wife who was already banned at our old address anyway. she has opened a bank account solely to use for ebay/paypal, just a basic one, our number is different even if I only get 6 months out of it its better than nothing.

the laptop is new, can use a new phone number, just need to change the ip address

The best way I have found is using Sky Broadband you can change it in a couple of seconds from the Admin panel.

I will make a detailed tutorial for those who have Sky Broadband.

If your other accounts made are.stealth, why risk it all using real.details on.another. What amounts to nothing more than a.subtle change like address you suggested by adding a diff number or an a or b, really is too close to home. Doing this is effectively going stealth anyway so i really wouldnt agree with yr suggestion.

Sorry cant help with ip....i access all my stealths on mobile devices.

I have made a tutorial for you to help you with IP changing.

It may be for you or not but I find this the best method ever.

What? Are you on some sort of retainer with this poxy company.

Sky would be at the bottom of a long line of sensible ISPs to use with stealth.

Far better and more reliable options exist rather than mucking around even for less than ten minutes.

You appear to not be taking into account that Sky give poor service at the best of times AND overcharge their customers.

I say this because our group with many more hours of knowledge have tried sky. It was a dismal failure. We wanted fast, reliable and good service. sky does not afford that for many customers.

That will NOT work.

You can not and should not do an address amendment like that.

ebay UK are one of the quickest to pick up changed info like that and link new accounts back to old suspended accounts.

Kudos for trying. But at least try something for stealth that has a better chance of lasting. this is risky and could give you grief.

Regarding your router, what brand is it? Do you know if your ISP gives you a dynamic or static IP address.

Part of the problems of changing the router may be if that IP is a sticky dynamic. Let's try to find more info about that. In turn we can try to point you in the right direction.

Why do you have to be so negative? I have used it this way for many years with no problems and never had the same IP twice.

I have put in many hours myself I am a software developer and have been for the last 8 year's so I know what I am talking about.

They may be expensive but if you call them they will lower the price if you barter with them, plus I have never had bad service.

Also I do not care about price I care about keeping my accounts alive.

I am only giving advice on what helps me and I like to have the best.

Well - best of luck aside - is your router separate from your MODEM? You need to unplug the modem...

By far not the best for stealth.... you need a different provider for that ;)

Agreed, Sky no longer have the monopoly on sat tv and even when they did they were rip off merchants and they are no better as Internet providers
